Trump Will Win the Nomination

I cannot stop laughing thinking about Trump telling the crowd, "I love the poorly educated!" That is the funniest thing ever to me.

It was fucking hilarious. "We have the smartest people and the most loyal people!"

Here's an article with speculation. I think a lot of these choices make sense, though I doubt Cruz would be veep. My favorite of the lot was Inhofe at EPA.
This is what he said about Cruz at a rally yesterday: “He will lie about anything. Now I’ve met much tougher people than Ted Cruz. He’s like a baby compared to some of the people I have to do. He’s like a little baby — soft, weak little baby by comparison. But for lying he is the best I’ve ever seen. He’s the best.”

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump
Big defeat last night in Nevada for Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. @KarlRove on @FoxNews is working hard to belittle my victory. Rove is sick!

I saw Newt as Secretary of Education and threw up on myself.

I think Inhofe at EPA is even more vomitous. Agree with BSF that Cruz ain't gonna be his veep. But if he's going to have to govern, many of these make sense. Inhofe at EPA, Fiorina as trade rep, and Walker at Labor would really stick it to Dems. One name not in there who would be in there somewhere would be Gowdy, maybe as AG instead of Christie. Christie at Transportation would be hilarious. But more seriously, Portman at State, Kudlow at Treasury, Kasich at HUD, Carson as SG, Manchin at Energy and DeMint at OMB make a lot of sense. I see Giuliana at Homeland Security rather than FBI.

Given the current climate and this shite slate of candidates, I strongly believe the next president will be a 1 termer.

Yeah, and anyway, Trump is going to implode any day now. :)

Can you think of anything that's changed since 2014 that might polarize latino voters even further towards the democratic party? Anything at all?

Obviously anecdotal, but I work with and speak at length with latinos, legal and illegal, every day. Trumps aggressive anti-illegal inmigration rhetoric doesn't play as well with legal immigrants as white republicans seem to hope.

I don't think that legal immigrants was the voter group that Trump's message was designed to reach. Those voters were likely to vote Democratic anyway, Trump or no Trump. Evidently, though, his message is resonating somewhere. Voter turnout in the GOP primaries so far is up 24% from the same primaries in 2012.

After 8 years of Obama, Pubs are angry same as after 8 years of W, Dems were angry. Angriest bunch usually wins out.

Only chance Dems retain WH is if dismayed establishment Pubs go for HRC instead. I doubt they do this but they may stay home.

Or the threat of "President Trump" may motivate enough Dems to get out and vote for HRC, especially in the swing states.

and thus the support of 44% of republican latino caucus voters is meaningless and unpredictive.

Maybe 4 months ago you could have predicted that Trump's rhetoric was disenfranchising latino republicans, but now he's distanced himself from the "murderers and rapists" comments, and the rest of the field has adopted his anti-immigration stance.

Be careful what you wish for. Some of those previous non-voters may be motivated to vote for Trump and against Hillary.

Voters who haven't voted regularly in the past are much more like to fall into that category than the one you envision, IMO. DeacWatcher was dead-on in his analysis.

I'm surprised more people haven't gone after Trump for his business failings and scams, including his Trump University scam. Fitting today when he said "I love the poorly educated! We're the smartest people, we're the most loyal people" Yes, we know why he loves them, he has a history of scamming them out of tens of thousands of dollars. There's a wealth of stuff there that I feel has been untapped and I hope Clinton or Sanders nails him on it:

The extra crazy part about this is that there's a trial and he'll have to testify this summer:

With GOP nomination looming, Trump is slated to take witness stand in fraud trial

Classic.

I don't think the vid of Cruz supporter Glenn Beck speaking at the caucus in a high school and then Trump shows up to make a brief appearance and everyone leaves Beck has gotten enough attention. Beck is now calling Trump supporters "brownshirts".

It's kinda like Hillary hasn't gone after Bernie for being a socialist or wanting to defund the CIA back in the day. No real need to air such stuff in the primary. But yes, this is probably HRC's best shot at winning - convincing enough people that he is a fraud.

Any talk of percentage of the latino vote is purely posturing and classic Trump smack talk. The reason 25% more people are coming to the Republican primaries is to prevent 12 million more future Democrats from ending the GOP demographically.
