Saudi World Golf Tour 2022/2023 Thread

Yeah, I was wistfully watching last night. That is a beautiful course on some great real estate. Next week's Hawaii course isn't nearly as interesting.

Weird that the FedEx Cup season in almost a quarter of the way over already.

Takes some getting used to seeing the flag stay in when Bryson putts.

New rule about dropping the ball from the knee level as opposed to the shoulder level is interesting.

So that means you can bend down to drop the ball?

What I saw was dude instead of having arm straight out to drop had arm straight down to drop.

Webb is tearing it up today. -8 thru 14 holes with 2 eagles. -13 for the tournament.
He's still 5 off the lead but he's greatly improved his position. Most guys are -1 or -2 for the day.

Watched that last nine after football. Amazing round by Schauffele. Woodland had a decent lead and played well enough to win 98% of the time, except for when someone ties the course record.

Feel bad for Woodland. He has a horrible track record of holding a 54 hold lead. But hard to blame him much on this one. Xander just played lights out. That said, Woodland made par on the par 5 last hole when a birdie would have gotten him to a playoff (which he likely would have lost to a red hot Xander)

Yeah, but that 8 iron on 17 was clutch, and he hit 2 good shots on 18 - just left his chip 10' short. He should take solace in the way he played with that lead, and both he and Schauffele could be in for big years. Woodland has stepped up his game in the last year. The person who should be worried about yet another poor Sunday performance is Rory. Rory has been awfully ordinary the last 2 years and has been downright bad every Sunday when he's been in contention.

Totally agree on Rory..

It's getting kind of strange on Rory, he's in contention a lot and rarely does he finish it off on Sunday. I don't think he will ever have a winless season in the next 10 years, but he needs to convert a 54 hole lead at a major soon before that becomes a very real story.

Also want to add that Xander is awesome, should be a force to reckon with for a while. Another young USA stud

Xander totally whipped it out on the back 9 after chipping in for eagle on 9 catalyzed his round. That was some, ahem, heady stuff. Think the X-man may have that "X-factor" type clutch gene. Love his golf swing and love his approach / attitude to the game. Twinkle toes McIlroy could learn a thing or two right now.

Haas struggling, battling for DFL. He hasn't been the same since that car accident. Hopefully a few guys will give Phil a battle to make Sunday interesting for a change.

Did golf channel drop the "channel" part and now just refer to themselves as "golf"?
