Saudi World Golf Tour 2022/2023 Thread

DeChambeau shot 59, 28 on the back nine, at the Pro-Am yesterday at TPC Summerlin (the location of this weekend's tourney).

TPC Summerlin is where Deacon golfer Bob Byman runs a golf academy. Byman played on the back-to-to back Wake NCAA championship teams with Curtis Strange and Jay Haas.

Put up a 62 in the first round today. The DeChambeau slobberfest going into Augusta is going to be unbearable if he wins this week, probably even if he doesn't win this week.

The good ole days.

BD is using a longer driver this week (the type that long drive contestants use). He drove the green on 361 yard par 4 today. This tournament is typically a birdie-fest. Winning score is going to be around -30.

I think he’s saving the 48” inch driver for Augusta. Taking time off this tourney to focus on it for the Masters.

I know I'm a Euro shill, but this week Wentworth & Aronimink > Vegas. Watching a lot of golf this weekend because it's raining here Sat-Mon on a 3 day weekend.

7 under cut is pretty awful. 25 guys in double digits over 2 days, at elevation course plays like it's 6,700 yards. Just not much of a challenge, makes it a boring putting contest minus Bryson driving 380 yard par 4's so that's all the announcers will talk about. BMW the much better tourney.

Also good field since it's a Rolex series event. And Kupcho was holding her own, though she and Danielle Kang were fading down the stretch. But good for her getting in the last group on a weekend in a major.

Will Z with another top 5. He only needs 3 Fedex cup points to get special temp status, and he still gets a free start for this top 10 PLUS he has 7 sponsor exemptions available. He's gonna make it easily. Up to 57th in the OWGR now as well, and top 50 get into all the invitationals.

Why doesn't he earn any Fedex points for his good finishes?

Yeah, with his history, you gotta wonder if he has been staying safe. Horsefield got it because he was partying in Gainesville when he got back to the states.

Yeah he needs to finish T69 at the Bermuda tournament to get his card.

If you had to pick one PGA Tour player who would absolutely contract COVID, who would be more likely than DJ?
