People by and large realize that Cooper has done a good job as governor (2&2 is died, so he doesn't count), and McCrory was terrible. My mother lives in upstate South Carolina, but gets news out of Asheville, and she is constantly talking about how great Cooper seems, particularly in his Covid press conferences. He projects himself as caring yet capable, and that goes a long way. Also, Dan Forest is a joke. I expect Cooper to win easily, but the president and senate votes will be very close.
Cooper is a hick.
I think Cooper will win fairly easily, and so will Josh Stein. What I'm hoping is that the Democrats can win some more statewide and state legislature offices. The GOP candidate for Lt. Governor is a nutcase, so I'm hoping the Democrat can win there, and the outgoing NC Superintendent of Public Instruction was also a nut, so I'm hoping the Democrat wins there too. Cunningham is still clinging to a small lead in most polls in spite of his affair, and the barrage of recent TV commercials that are just flat-out mentioning the affair and saying that if his family can't trust him voters can't either. That probably says more about the weakness of Tillis than anything, but while Cunningham has lost most of his lead he still seems to have a good shot, especially if Cooper wins by enough and Biden can stay close to Trump, or even carry the state.
Ordinarily you would think Cunningham is toast, but we elected a President who had a fling with a porn star and made his p*ssy grab comments...
I've definitely seen a fair amount of "think of the children !" types who are not voting Cunningham because of this...but likely still all in on Trump.

President Trump privately told donors this past week that it will be “very tough” for Republicans to keep control of the Senate in the upcoming election because some of the party’s senators are candidates he cannot support.
“I think the Senate is tough actually. The Senate is very tough,” Trump said at a fundraiser Thursday at the Nashville Marriott, according to an attendee. “There are a couple senators I can’t really get involved in. I just can’t do it. You lose your soul if you do. I can’t help some of them. I don’t want to help some of them.”
The attendee shared the president’s words on the condition of anonymity as the event was a closed-door gathering. It was held before the last presidential debate between Trump and Democrat Joe Biden.
The president — in a sentiment not shared by many of his party’s top officials and strategists — said he instead thinks the Republicans “are going to take back the House.” And many strategists involved in Senate races say the party’s chances at keeping the chamber are undermined by the president’s unscripted, divisive rhetoric and his low poll numbers in key states.

HAHAHAHAHA.
Motherfucker cares only about himself. It’s too bad no one has said this to Senate Republicans for 4+ years.
Sasse wasn't at Trump's Nebraska rally last night but Joni Ernst was.
