MTOW: Moore doesn't have a problem with stamina

Sig, ChrisL, Racer, 22, Alpha and BKF can all tell you that Markieff Morris is a well known WFU shill and will say anything to protect Manning and his real friend Ron Wellman. Danny Manning let the team lose a ton of close games that we would have won if any single one of them was prowling the sidelines like a hungry tiger striking fear in the hearts of children and unsuspecting goats and things everywhere.

Such an interesting and august group to be lumped in with.

bkf left the #micro behind in the 90s. ChrisL is probably about out of the #micro stage as well.

It appears Moore may have a stamina issue after all, which seems odd at this point in the season. Too bad bc he contributes when on the court.

That is part of what Danny Manning is dealing with in Doral Moore. He appears to be a pretty good basketball player, however, he can only play effectively about four consecutive minutes at a time. If this number increases, and he can get to playing 25 - 30 min per game effectively, He could be a very good player.

25-30 minutes are fine starter minutes in a 4 man front court rotation like we will have next year.

At this point, 20 is a stretch for Doral. However, it appears that 15- 20 is more than he was able to do previously, so there is some trajectory in his minutes pointing to 25 per game as a realistic goal for next fall. Three shifts of 4+ each half is probably where he will be. Something like: Start, play to under 16 min TO, rest until about 12 min, play to under 8 min TO, rest, return around 4 min, play to halftime.

The above, of course, is subject to modification based on foul situation etc.

I like giving Doral breaks during the TV TOs. I'm thinking something like start, play through the 16 min TO, come out at the next break, sit through the 12 min TO, come back in at the next break, play through 8 min TO, sit at next break. Hold him out if he has 2 fouls. Otherise, bring him back in after the 4 min TO.

That means he plays something like 20-14, 10-6, 4-0. That's 14 minutes +/- 2-4 min depending on the breaks.

If we're going to keep running this matchup zone at teams Manning actually could get away with starting Bryant/Codi/Dinos/Devin/Moore. That'd be fun.

I don't see how that lineup is not worth trying. Having Wilbekin out there guarding anyone isn't doing the team any favors. May as well have the height advantage on the court as there has been very few advantages thus far in ACC play.

"Coach [Redacted] was my first coach in the NBA. We learned a lot with each other. That first year, we made it to the playoffs after only winning 17 games the year before. He did a good job here and I enjoyed playing for him."
- Carmelo Anthony

So...you're saying that if Melo > Markieff then Jeff [Redacted] > ______ ?

a) Kurt Rambis
b) Phil Jackson
c) Bill Self
d) Danny Manning

This would be interesting to see indeed, but only with a zone. We should dominate the boards with that group.

Right - you just can't get Dinos or Collins isolated against a true 3. Pretty much an auto-foul.

Seems like all season we've been playing man and switching everything - a lot of teams have run high screens until they get a mismatch. Obviously it's been ugly. We ran a 2-3 every now and then but gave up too many open jumpers and struggled to rebound out of it. The matchup zone has easily been the best we've looked on defense during ACC play, and it looks like we rebound much better out of it because everyone has an eye on who to box out before the shot goes up. It also keeps Dinos away from the top of the key where he struggles mightily.

Seriously doubt we'd see that lineup because Manning seems extremely reluctant to mess with positions (and it'll never happen next year) but it'd be interesting.
