Men's Golf

We are going to find out how well the other 4 respond to pressure with Zalatoris likely not counting today.

Scoring is looking lower already today. Like tincup said, LOTS of golf to be played still. Wish this was televised.

Wake could finish anywhere from second to eighth at this point. Zalatoris needs to get a few back to take some pressure off the rest of the team.

Zalatoris is +5 for 6. There are 75 players in the field. WZ is in 66th place.

The rest of the Deacs are on their own.

Yep. This would be very exciting to watch. Zalatoris can hopefully stabilize and get a couple shots back to help alleviate a potential big hole from another teammate. If anyone can do it it's Will.

Most likely, though on Monday he shot -4 over the last 11 holes. Today that would make a huge difference.

One of Oregon, UAB, or UNF has to falter at some point. For now, however, we need to catch Cal.

College golf scores can change dramatically in short order

If Wake beats Cal I think we're in. A shot back now (right where we started) and tied with Riverside and a shot up on Tech. They both have the more difficult side upcoming and we're playing in a group with Cal.

Well when you're sitting at +5 thru 6 things aren't looking to great

He's a top 50-60 amateur in the world. It's probably been a while since he shot an 84.

His worst round this year has been a 78, and second worst is 76. He's not going to shoot an 84 unless he is really injured.

He's also been tearing up the final few holes on the course the past two days. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him get back to a 73/74.

Four against five is tough. One really bad hole from any of the other guys and we are toast.

OK, we're basically 4 shots from qualifying heading into the back nine. We need Womble to claw back from +3.

Going to need some help. Would be huge if N Florida tanked their back 9.

So our highest 2 seeded players are a combined +9 when only 3 teams on the course are over par. So Wake.

WTNY!!!

Barring a miracle, we are done. Hate to blame it on one guy but when your AA plays like this, any team in the country would have a difficult time getting through. Incredibly disappointing way to finish one of our better regular seasons of all time.

Right now the top 5 teams have one player over par between them at +2. Our 3-5 are a combined -5. Shame.
