Men's Golf

Looks like the Deacs have another stud from the UK: Mark Power from Ireland. Two time Irish Open Boys Champ. #69 in the World Am rankings.

Power is a tour player. I would be surprised if he stays all four years.

Obviously early in the season but with Wolff/Hovland gone from OkSt and WF probably not losing much ground with Young/Detmer gone but Power coming in and Chacarria/Fitzpatrick with another year of experience, any thoughts on where we rank? Doesn't look like the scoring site for the tournaments is showing rankings at this point.

Playing a home game this week at Old Town and 4 shots back going into the final round.

Steyn in the lead individually at -11

Chacarra is in 2nd at -9, but is playing as an individual instead of being part of team competition. Easy to say we'd be running away with this if he was in the lineup.

Men in second after 2nd round of 3 in Oregon. Leading the pack that is getting dusted by Oklahoma with a strong field playing.

Great effort on the back nine to get within 5 of Oklahoma for second place. The team, all five players, were seven under on the back nine today. Chacarra birdied the last five holes.

Men and women playing Eastlake today thru Wed with tv coverage on golf channel from 3-6

Shows how deep both men's and women's teams are this year. Not the best day for either team as a whole but today was just seeding for match play and individual tournament.

Men's #4 Mark Power wins Men's individual at -5
Women's # 5 Vanessa Knecht co-winner of Women's at -3

Match play tomorrow/wednesday

Based upon his name alone, feel like Mark Power is going to do some special thins.

If GolfStat is accurate Parker Gillam shot a 60 today (-12) in the first round of a tournament in the Bahamas. Unfortunately he is playing as an individual so his score did not count towards the team who is in fifth through the first.

Second place individual is at -6...so that's crazy.

Why is Bags not playing for the women?

Bags will play in many events but in events like the match play when only so many can play we will play our best 6 and freshmen Walsh and Kuehn have been better than Bags this year

Parker shoots -12, 60 and boggied his last hole
today playing as an individual.
Poor Jerry just can't catch a break trying to shuffle all this talent.

Wake men finished second to Sam Houston State by four shots in the All-American Tournament.Had four guys in top 25.

Golf Stat has the WF men at #4 in the nation, and the ladies at #7.
