"There's something going on there" is the same exact language Trump used to justify the Muslim ban. The implication is a direct connection - it's not really that subtle. Catering to the birther types as usual, basically his base.

Establishment GOP is still shocked that Trump's their nominee. Haven't figured out yet that Trump's base is birthers who favor a Muslim ban. Screws the religious freedom angle on bakers refusing gay wedding cake business. Also prohibits working closely with potential Muslim business and military allies.

What's left of the GOP establishment can partially place some of the blame on Trump's Muslim ban for an HRC presidency without lingering EC problems. Not so much with mass deportations in the West. Problem is their base eats that shit up and won't figure it out until 2020 at the earliest, if ever.

Doesn't matter how many House seats they have without POTUS, Senate, and a SC majority. Trump ran over the establishment and killed them, but he'll still set the corpses on fire, pee on them, and take a big smelly dump on the smoldering ashes before he's done. At least Rush and right wing media will make serious bank trashing the Clintons for another 4 or 8 years.

Trump also dissed Jeff Bezos and Amazon while revoking the Post's credentials. At a minimum, Bezos' net worth is six times Trump's net worth, but probably at least ten times. Trump hates it when rich guys like Cuban bag on him, but he really hates it when guys like Bezos and Bloomberg, who are way richer than he is, ignore him.

GOP hates the Post, so a short term political benefit, but Trump's new DC hotel opens soon, so an extended pissing contest with the Post isn't in his family's commercial interests.
