Shooting at an Orlando Gay Night Club

poll should be public as well

Okay. Have one of the mods post it on the sports board. "Milhouse has asked that BobStackFan4Life be banned"
Only two choices "1. Milhouse should be banned 2. BobStackFan4Life should be banned", only one vote per person (no parodies), and public vote.

You guys are turds.

Can't even mourn the dead without someone making this a bullshit personal pissing contest.

Fuck you both and fuck guns, and the cunts who cling to them when this shit happens so often instead of actually doing something about it.

don't you have some sexual assault convictions to question?

The answer is #2. Let BSF and Wrangor regale themselves with great stories on the Crooked Hillary thread.

But even being on the watch list, he was allowed to buy guns and ammo. Thanks NRA and Congressional pussies afraid to vote against them!

What can our leaders do?
They can ban guns but then we will just be less armed.

This is something that will not end unless we are a people stand up and learn to love one another.
We must change our own society for the better. Because right now we are a culture of hate.

Trump and his xenophobic acolytes are far beyond the point of mere ignorance on this topic. How in the hell is the government supposed to identify and prevent religious extremists from purchasing weapons, without curtailing multiple constitutional rights? Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to assemble, right to bear arms, freedom from unreasonable search and seizure, etc.

It's relatively easy. We have two primary competing constitutional rights, freedom of religion and the right to bear arms. Flip a coin: heads we ban guns; tails we ban Islam. Flip and let Allah decide which he prefers. And Vegas would love it. And TV, it would be the ultimate Decision.

Predictable responses in election season. Media has a misplaced focus on the hate crime element, as if ISIS isn't pretty much an equal opportunity hater. The guy on NBC this morning was practically crying over people jumping the gun calling it Islamic terrorism while having no problem himself calling it a hate crime. People focusing on guns, as if ISIS is going to have trouble securing guns in any event. See France.

FBI interviewed (news said interviewed, but maybe they meant investigated) this guy 3 times. The question is why. If this came up on a background check and he was allowed to pass the check so as not to endanger an ongoing investigation, heads should roll. Of course, it would be covered up precisely because heads would roll.

It's not one or the other. It's basic common sense that if someone is on the terrorist watch list that they shouldn't be able guns.

Well, common sense to everyone other than the NRA and their lemming RWers.

What the hell, if you are one the watch list, you should $100 gift certificate to be used at your local gun shop.

It's common sense that nobody should be able to get guns unless they have an actual need for them.

But we don't deal in common sense on this issue

What is factually incorrect about it? That dude was more successful in his quest to remove gays and he didn't need a gun.

Since it is apparently so much common sense, who gets to decide who "needs" one? The little old lady who lives in the hood? The small business owner who carries cash back and forth to the bank? The farmer who needs to protect his livestock from predators? The victim of spousal abuse with the restraining order? The guy on the overnight shift at the gas station?

Why can't we leave the gays alone? We are a diseased and tragically flawed species. Fuck off everyone.

Should be the standard that a lot of cities have for gun permits (e.g. NYC): you have to show that you have some individualized need beyond the general population. Under that, probably everyone but the little old lady qualifies
