GW's Lonergan Accused of 'Verbal and Emotional Abuse'

A quick Google reveals that Nero has written an article in a gay DC paper regarding LGBT players. Who knows. That would be nuts.

apetit was the Mike White fan club president. don't remember who really liked Lonerdonk, maybe there were a couple posters but general consensus was he was a boring pick like a Russell Turner. Shaka, Mike White, Archie Miller, Ben Howland dominated the discussion. Think we got turned down by the first 3 and Tommy Amaker before landing on Danny.
 
I think there was a thread on him just because people were trying to figure out who we might be after, not because of any great desire for him.
 
Yeah from first appearance he screamed safe Wellman pick after Shaka said no. Don't think he was in anyone's top 5.
 
There were multiple posters on here who were head over heels for Lonergan. Can't remember which ones specifically though. He was Scott Drew 2.0

Wait Mike White turned us down? Is there any proof to that or is it just pure speculation at this time. I felt like White was a guy we could have landed if we offered.

According to the newspaper, Lonergan told one athlete he belonged in a "transgender league" and suggested another's son would forever rely on public assistance.

One former player, according to the Post, said he needed therapy to cope after his time playing for Lonergan.

Players said Lonergan shared his distaste for Nero in a manner both inappropriate and outlandish. Five current and former players said Lonergan made explicit remarks about Nero, among them telling them to avoid Nero because he was obsessed with them.

Five current and former players said Lonergan told players Nero (GW AD) requested the practice tapes so he could masturbate while viewing them in his office. The players said Lonergan also told them Nero had engaged in a sexual relationship with a member of the team. Players said they found those comments to be shocking and offensive, with no grounding in reality.

I'm pretty positive no one was head over heels for Lonerdonk. People may have begrudgingly accepted him but he was not firing anyone up.

Proof? I don't have a recording of Mike White telling Ron no thanks but that was the story at the time and it was told by people who broke Danny before it was common knowledge. In fact the story was White told Ron he didn't feel he was ready but he took the Florida job 1 year later.

After a really quick search it does look like wake20 was all about the donk. Not quite to the level RSF wanted The Situation from Manhattan.
