Role of the Media

walked in the building today and saw a copy of the NYT with that headline and was like WTF

didn't realize it became a big thing, but glad it was redacted

Trump being factual. Lol

Given that Trump went back on his calls for unity and fighting hate and division less than 24 hours later with a tweet attack on Obama, the Times could have saved themselves some trouble by simply adding "until tomorrow" to the headline.

The NBC report:

Must read thread from a British journalist. Congrats Trumpist rubes for allowing this mess to happen.

There’s no coming back from this. We just have to deal with the reality that a large proportion of our electorate will be unreliable participants in our democracy from now on. They have no interest in truth or being part of a multicultural educated society.

I hope your first sentence is wrong. But yeah, it’s hard to be optimistic.

Agree with the rest.

Bret Stephens, self-proclaimed champion of free speech on college campuses, tried to get a professor fired for calling him a bedbug on Twitter.

Probably for the best - if "bedbug" sent him into a tizzy, he should not be searching his name on Twitter today.

(Everyone else should, though. Lot of laughs to be had.)

Lol. What a tool. Never heard of this guy until now. He did himself exactly zero favors.

Bret Stephens is exhibit A of why the left doesn't like the NYT, despite what those on the right would have you believe
