Role of the Media

Ok, what should it be?

That a far right Putin-supporting candidate picked up 8 points since the 2017 election, flipped 28 election districts, and her party will likely do well in the parliamentary elections in June.

Do you have a Google machine? If so, you can look it up.

I read a story but that was enough. Still couldn't get context as to whether or not he was accusing her of wrongdoing or if she was just the recipient of information that would incriminate someone else or if she was accused of actual wrongdoing through illegally obtaining information.

Lolz at Todd. I haven't watched MTP since last summer, and don't miss it at all. He's an awful host of that show - Tim Russert probably rolls over in his grave every time an episode airs.

Nervous yet, lefties?

There's always been a market for mean-spirited people to mock others. It's just a political tool now. It's not like there weren't jokes about marginalized people and Democrats until conservatives figured out the code.

Much of humor is about victims of society punching up. Conservatives have instilled a sense of victimhood in their base to the point that straight white guys mocking trans people is a form of punching up.

Sullivan also doesn’t mention that it’s not just right wing media who provides cover for Republican corruption. WaPo wouldn’t engage in a one-sided effort to expose one party’s corruption.

"Role of the media" post was in reference to Salon's choice of headline. Haven't figured out yet how to tell when Twitter will embed multiple posts or just one.
