Carolina Thunderbirds are back!

Cornwall has folded and each team received 2 players in the dispersal draft. Rumor is the North Shore Knights will fold after the season and the FHL will fold after the season. Also, The Thunderbirds are rumored to be moving up to the SPHL next season.

Weekly Update: The Birds went 1-2 this past weekend. North Shore comes to town this weekend. This Friday is Kelly Curl night. The first 600 fans with receive a Curl goalie mask. Saturday night is Pucks N Paws nights. Bring your dogs as long as they're on a leash and you must sit in section 222 and 223. Parking is free and you can buy your tickets at the Annex Box Office or here https://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/..._header_search

Hope the SPHL rumors pan out. Fwiw, Birmingham added a team with a stadium w/ a 3500 capacity in 2017. Most teams have double that... But it couldn't hurt W-S's chances.

Cornwall was our best rival.

North Shore is a total farce. The L to them before Christmas was horrendous. I'm pretty sure that is their only win in the country in the '17 portion of the schedule

The T-Birds swept the North Shore Knights this past weekend and lost to Danville in OT in what was a wild back and forth game. Port Huron comes to town Friday and Saturday. Friday night is a Frosty Friday Night. All domestic beers and pepsi products are all $2. Saturday is Czech Night as head coach Andre Niec will return from his 12 game suspension. GM Scott Brand has gone 7-2-1 in his time as acting head coach. Parking is FREE and you can buy your tickets at the Annex Box Office or here https://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/..._header_search

A couple of roster updates Jiri Pestuka - 14 day IR, Vlasov - 7 day IR, Fejt - 30 day IR (probably out for the season/career ending). The Birds will welcome back Alex Vazquez as he returns from his loan from the ECHL Brampton Beast. Justin Blaszack also returns after a long stint in the SPHL with Fayetteville.

If this is a sure sellout, why are you hocking it 90 minutes before puck drops?

I had way too good of time again last night.

That was the 2nd best home game of the year, behind the wild comeback on 2/9.

The Thunderbirds are back in action this weekend. Danville comes to town for the last time this season. The Birds will host the Dashers Saturday at 6:05 and Sunday at 4:05. Saturday night is Cancer Awareness and Teacher Appreciation Night. The team will auction off specialty jerseys for Cancer research. Get all the latest updates and promotions on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/carolinatbirds/ You can buy tickets at the WS Annex Box Office or on ticketmaster https://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/2402904?tm_link=tm_header_search

IMPORTANT PARKING INFO - Miranda Lambert will be at the LJVM Saturday night so parking will be in LOT 5 and traffic will be a mess so arrive early.

Took my wife, daughter and her friend last Saturday night. Had a great time. It was very cold in the building, but it's a hockey game, duh. I think what they really need is some kind of video board to show replays. Hockey is great in person, but you really need the ability to see replays, especially goals because it can be really hard to see what happened live. I hope the team keeps doing well and sticks around for a long time.

It's starting to be that time again. Here is the off season recap. Cornwall and North Shore have folded while the FHL has added two expansion teams in the Mentor Ice breakers and the Elmira TBA. Elmira is holding a press conference wednesday to announce the team name, logo, and the first player signing. Joe Pace Sr. of Port Huron will head up the Mentor team with his son Joe Pace Jr. taking over the Port Huron team. *Rumor* Carolina Thunderbirds own #11 Michael Bunn will be playing some pre season hockey with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. Last but not least the FHL announced a full season schedule. The T-Birds will have a FHL high of 32 home games out of 58 games this season.

I would like to first say I’m sorry for not keeping this thread up to date over the off season. A lot has been going on with work and life to find time to post updates. I am looking for someone to take over this thread starting December 1st. I will be joining the navy so I won’t be available to post updates or drop some inside information. I plan on starting back today since there is only 3 WEEKS until the season starts. If anyone is interested shoot me a pm and we can work things out.

What's the word??

About to drop by day 4 scrimmage.

Opening night is next Friday (the 26th).

We dropped back from 4 on the glass to 3 up high because we usually just hang out in the fiddlin' fish area.

Looking forward to the season!
