ACC Baseball Tourney Expands to 12 Teams; New Format

I think these are good changes for NCAA bubble teams (read: Wake the last several seasons).

It basically ensures that we'll be at the ACC Tournament. And once we're there, we'll have at least two games minimum.

That article really lacks details on how the seeding is done, and how tiebreakers are broken once the tournament begins.

The article does state that seeding will be done on the basis of conference game win %. It does not specify how the seeds will be placed in the four pools. With the round robin pool play, it is not very important to break ties at the top or in the middle. The two division winners will be one and two seeds, and I would presume their pools would be set so they would only face each other in a championship game. Dividing the middle teams could have some impact on who plays who, but it shouldn't be a big deal. The important tie breaker is for the 12th spot, if two or more teams are tied for 12th in the league and the article didn't address how that kind of tie would be broken.

Based on last years standings, Miami and Louisville would have been #1 and #2 respectively. Pitt and VaTech would have been left out and there would have to be a tie breaker between Wake and UNC (both 13-17, 0.433 in conference) for the twelfth team in and and first team out.

You must have looked at that wrong, as Wake was one of the 10 teams in the tourney last year, so clearly couldn't have been tied for 12th.

seems like a gut reaction due to UNC missing the NCAAT.
