Official November 8, 2016 Election Day Thread

James Carville doesn't bullshit. Like 2 hours ago - "If we lose Virginia this election is over."

Just now, "She can technically win Michigan but at this point every chip has to fall perfectly for her."

Basically watching him cope with the Dems having the least amount of power across State and Federal politics in decades...

LOL. Hillary could still win this thing. I won't believe that Trump will win Wisconsin or Michigan until I see it. If he does, I think it should prove to everyone that there is a huge amount of Americans out there who are totally fed up with a lot of things in this country. I told PH months ago that the BLM people weren't the only people in this country who were angry...and that this other group of people was a lot bigger than the BLM group. Interested to see what happens in Nevada. The experts have been wrong about everything else, so they might be wrong about Nevada, too. And Trump still might need Nevada & New Hampshire to get to 269 (or 270 with Maine's congressional district). I'm still not giving up on Pennsylvania, but I didn't realize that Hillary had as big a lead in Philly as she had (405K with 80% in).

Pulling hard for Pat McCrory right now, he was within 3K votes the last time I checked.

The Senate looks safe....like I thought it would. I picked 52-48 GOP on the Senate thread poll.

ETA: Even if Hillary pulls this thing out, I think a lot of posters here should realize that they have completely misread the mood of much of the country. There are a lot of regular, hard-working Americans in this country who have been getting fucked over by the elites & the establishment for a long time...and they finally got sick of it and said "That's enough!".

A huge part is also the movement of people to the big coastal cities to get out of those regions - Hilary is going to win the popular vote, and she's racking up unbelievably huge margins on the coasts. Our electoral system just doesn't reward all those extra votes in New York, Maryland, California, Oregon and the like the same way. In a strange way, the brain drain to the coasts has empowered the voters they left behind in the middle of America just because of the odd way our electoral system works.

I may turn. John King randomly clicking on Wisconsin and Michigan counties is getting old.

It's giving me nausea. But when I turned over to MSNBC earlier it was Brian Williams bloviating and I couldn't take it.

I'll try again

Silver at 61% Trump. Hillary needs Wisconsin, Michigan, and PA

Dems have effectively wasted 8 years of Obama. He redrew the map twice and they couldn't take advantage in the midterms and now.

It really is crazy to see these absurdly low approval ratings for Congress and then to see such a floodgate of incumbents winning. Change at the top and nowhere else. So odd.

Because they ran the candidate who Obama originally defeated

This is on YOU DNC

And nobody else

Richard Burr's acceptance speech was all about how he was gonna change things, clean up DC, and get America back to work.

Yep. I just posted this on Facebook: "It is truly amazing how people who are voting for Trump based on his anti-establishment message are sending Republicans incumbents back to their state capitols and Washington, DC."

He ran on draining the swamp and his voters are sending the same swamp rats back to DC.

Isn't the electoral college vote based on % of population? I don't get this argument

Yeah. Incumbent Republicans can keep using this line. It's like telling you kid to clean up his room and believing him every time he says it even though it doesn't get clean.

I don't know. I guess all that stuff about cleaning up Washington is just about getting rid of Dems.

Huge move for Hillary in Michigan. Wow.

No, because the EC has a floor of 3. No matter how few citizens you have, you get 3.

It's reps + senators.

Maybe he bears some responsibility for losing the House and the Senate?

If I have this right- Trump wins 4 of 5 EVs in NE, Clinton wins 3 of 4 EVs in Maine, Trump wins Wisconsin, Clinton wins Michigan and NH, it would be a tie at 269?
