It’s amazing how much media attention the Dems concede by not going after him for this stuff. There’s no counternarrative to GOP BS. But during Obama, there was never not a Pub on TV railing on about tan suits or feet on the desk or arugula or whatever minor crap.

Democratic US Rep. Katie Hill of California's 25th District has resigned amid an ethics probe over allegations that she had an affair with a male member of her staff after taking office earlier this year. She's one of the Dems who turned a previously Republican district blue last year. Some saw her (she's only 32) as a rising star in the party. However, she's apparently going through a nasty divorce in which she's accused her husband of being abusive. He revealed to a conservative US blog and a British tabloid, the Daily Mail, that Hill, who is bisexual, had already had an affair with a female staff member during her campaign, and claimed that he had a separate affair with the staff member as well. He also gave the Mail nude photos of Hill and the female staffer, and more nude photos of Hill and the staffer have surfaced since on conservative websites. It is illegal for members of Congress to have sexual relationships with staff members they supervise, although her affair with the female staffer was not illegal, as it happened before she was elected. She has denied the affair with the male staffer, but quit today anyway, along with a letter slamming right-wing activists for waging a "smear campaign" to destroy her career. It has apparently worked. It will be interesting to see what happens in her district, as it was Republican until last year's election.
