Ongoing Dem Debacle Thread: Commander will kill us all

i'm just going by comments made here and a delineation made in the Jacobin article that the two are not necessarily synonymous.

Can you give me an example of something that you think is in conflict? The Jacobin, though i think is an entry point for those interested in socialism, is not a DSA publication and a lot of people in my chapter are critical of it.

Ongoing Dem Debacle Thread: Horseshoes! (and hand grenades)

I’m not sure that itc even knows what he’s arguing anymore. Woof.

Why call yourself a Democratic socialist and not just socialist if they’re the same

That is a fair question and i think some members think it is redundant. But we stress bringing more democracy to both the work place and our everyday lives. “We must combat the dominant ideology of market individualalism with a compelling vision of democracy and freedom, and show how only in a society characterized by democratic decision-making and universal political, civil, and social rights can individuals truly flourish.”

I don’t understand why you couldn’t ask about the naming rather than continuing to falsely say it isn’t socialism.

I think there is an issue here also with how journalists have used the same practice as you to say “Democratic socialist.” We are a dues paying organization, not a political party.

There is a long history re: identification in socialist politics. Democratic Socialist ideology differs from more orthodox forms of socialist ideology. It’s less relevant now than it was in the past, but I agree with MHB that you’re basically right.

Good interview with FL gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum.

Love this take on Democrats running as "Republican-lite" in FL at 4:25: "[Democrats] ran toward the invisible, movable center that hadn't existed for us for 20 years. Let me tell you Republicans have demonstrated when they have a choice between the real thing and the fake one they go for the real one every time. And our [Democrat] voters aren't sure what's real about what our nominees have to say. They stay home."

Democrats weaken ‘superdelegates’ in effort to avoid another bitter presidential primary

The new party rules undo decades-old reforms that empowered hundreds of party activists and elected officials, often referred to as “superdelegates,” whose presidential convention votes were not bound to the results of primaries or caucuses. They also affirm the decision of six states to move from caucuses, which have favored insurgent candidates, to primaries, which tend to have higher turnout.

Yeah. It’s a silly way to give individuals power that if they actually used it would cause a major shitstorm.

Sail away

You are an intellectual weakling with a gaped-out memory hole.

Why don’t you move your lazy ass and see if you can find some YouTube’s with Lady Clinton all up the Ass of Vlad and his “inner circle”

Progressives are puerile suck-asses who are just too GD lazy to be bothered with pesky things like facts

superdelegates are dumb

The DNC cheated and fucked Bernard Sanders.

President Trump was the only canidate who asked “what the fuck!?”

Bernie, instead, took the lake house on Champlain and the private use of a Lear— that was enough to leave his faithful constituents out in the chilly Philly night air.
