Ongoing Dem Debacle Thread: Commander will kill us all

Case closed. Nothing to see here as CNN has weighed in to finally put out the fires on this story.

It's comical to watch the media (assisted by the vast number of MENSA scholars on this board) jump circle defend Katie Hill and portray her as the victim in this story.

The actions excused, ignored, or rationalized away as long as a (D) follows your name continue to amaze.

Lol, this is perfect.

does Angus think "Revenge Porn" is just a category on Pornhub?

He wouldn't know. The closest thing he's ever come to seeing a naked woman is Pornhub. He wouldn't have a clue about seeing a naked woman in person.

Does anyone really think Angus and his ilk have a problem with a guy taking nudes of his wife and sending them to conservative websites?

I mean she is literally the victim of a crime irrespective of how you view her relationship of the campaign staffer you nonce

What crime did she commit, Angus? She did show poor judgment - as many here have said - in having an affair with a female staffer before she was elected. It was not illegal, and by all accounts was consensual. She has denied the accusation of having an affair with a male staffer after she took office, and to date no hard evidence has surfaced to prove it. If it did, then both I and numerous other posters have said she should have quit.

Unlike your heroes Trump and Kavanaugh, she has not been accused (or just admitted to) of sexual assault, and since she has resigned she has not gotten away with anything, unlike Trump, Kavanaugh, and a number of other Republican pols who have been accused of such things and yet continue to serve in office. Given that her obviously vengeful ex-hubby has been publicly slut-shaming her by selling/giving nude photos of her to right-wing blogs and websites (have you seen them yet, Angus?) she most certainly is a victim of revenge porn, irrespective of whether she showed poor judgment in having an affair with a staffer. So, what exactly are we excusing, Angus?

Anyone remember how quickly Larry Craig resigned?

Other than an elected official having multiple affairs with staffers proven with actual evidence (photos and texts)? That this violated House ethics rules put into place because of #MeToo?

Agree that releasing the nudes crossed a line. But please remind me when the left was concerned with "crossing the line" when every MSM news outlet ran with the Kavanaugh accusations without a shred of corroborating or supporting evidence?

There is no evidence that she's had an affair with the male staffer, which would have violated House ethics rules. If evidence does surface to that effect, both I and other posters have already said she should have resigned (and, again, she has quit, so she's not getting away with anything.) She wasn't in Congress when the affair with the female staffer took place, so it was not a violation of the rules. You may not believe that Professor Ford was a credible witness, but many others did (and still do), and what she described was nothing less than a sexual, physical assault by Kavanaugh. For the umpteenth time, Angus, Hill is not accused of sexual assault. Her affair was consensual. If you can't tell the difference, then that is on you, not us.

I’m confused. Did she rescind her resignation at the urging of Pelosi?

You should bitch at Junebug instead of "the Tunnels left." He's the one who said Kavanaugh shouldn't have been confirmed.

Trump was banging porn stars and centerfolds while his wife was pregnant, and then subsequently tried to pay them off with campaign money.

The only evidence (photos/texts) of a relationship involving Katie Hill appears to be with the consent of and participation with her husband, which is how all of this came to light as he went nuclear on his ex.

Yet, Katie Hill's political career is over, and the self-absorbed egoist remains our President.

How can anyone take those facts and claim that there is some kind of public and/or media-imposed double-standard excusing Dem's/women's behavior?

One of Trump's biggest Congressional supporters, Jim Jordan covered up almost a decade of sexual abuse while coaching at Ohio State. At least five of his wrestlers have publicly stated they asked Jordan for help and he ignored them allowing dozens of sexual assaults to continue happening.

Yea but like Katie Hill took some nudes with a staffer, and she resigned which all the board libs totally agreed with, so Jordan’s thing is clearly not the same. He didn’t get away with it like the congresswoman with a D next to her name who just resigned.

You’ve said a number of times now that Hill’s relationship with the female staffer ended before she became a congressperson. That’s what she claims, but based on the articles I have seen, that is very much in dispute.

Was the campaign staffer on her House staff?

I think it’s weird that you find it less likely that a drunk dude raped a girl at a party and she knew who he was than a vast conspiracy to slander an innocent man despite the fact nothing like that happened to Gorsuch.

This is not an important detail. She has resigned and her career in Democratic party politics is over. However, it is yet to be seen whether she has any future role in the GOP where none of these things matter.

Fine. It may be in dispute, but like the affair with the male staffer, is there any actual evidence? If the affair did continue, then yes she should have resigned (and of course has done so at any rate.) It was still a consensual affair, not sexual assault, which is what some posters here persist in comparing it to. It also doesn't address the fact that she is an obvious victim of revenge porn.
