Ongoing Dem Debacle Thread: Commander will kill us all

We’ve actually had another election and the Dems picked up seats. Who is unaware?

Not to mention that there have been several studies showing that the "great Trump economy" hasn't been so great for many of the rural areas that form such a a large chunk of Trump's base, or that the great majority of the economic benefits have gone to a very small slice of the population. Ironically, most of the economic benefits from the economic boom that started under Obama have been oriented towards larger urban areas that loathe Trump. The places that love him haven't benefited nearly as much. Makes one wonder why, if it's not economic benefits, rural and country folk do love him so much. I think we all know the answer, although few Trumpites will publicly admit to it.

Said it before but in this here 2019 sailor still navigates with a sextant.

It helped that Virginia Republicans, rarely bothered by President Trump’s race-baiting, lack any credibility to criticize Mr. Northam, a former lawmaker whose record on race was strong before he was elected governor in 2017.

On the one hand we have a newspaper saying that they were wrong and owe an apology as well as a political party that largely said the Gov should resign.

On the other hand we have a raging racist in the White House that has surrounded himself by other racist, lying, and immoral people (many of whom have resigned in disgrace or. Even convicted of actual crimes).

Got it. Can't believe the alternate reality so many people are living in.

The funny thing is, Brad's posts demonstrate a pretty decent point, just not the one he is trying to make.

Northam has turned into the new Robert Byrd for Republicans. Anytime one of their own gets called out for racism or bigotry (which is all too often), they'll trot out Northam as their bosides-do-it evidence. No reference to the fact that many Democrats called for Northam's removal or resignation, or the great difference in the numbers of Republicans and Democrats who have said or done something racist or bigoted since 2000. They'll just post something about Northam and triumphantly walk away, convinced that they've won the argument. That's what they did with Byrd for decades.

The Dems might be guilty of overreacting in cases like this sometimes. The Republicans on the other hand will ;-) at child molesters such as that turd in Alabama

And Republicans also forget that Virginia governors only have one term and it’s hard to get rid of them otherwise.

So what happened in less than a year?? According to the WaPo in Feb 2019, 'racism gets no sanctuary' in the Democratic Party of 2019.

Does Angus think it's "hypocrisy" when one person calls for the Governors resignation and a completely different person thinks that that Dems should not have called on him to resign? Also, what's with the oddly specific "98.9%"?
