Ongoing Dem Debacle Thread: Commander will kill us all

A Dem-controlled committee releases potentially damaging info about another Dem? GOP scratches head...

By the way how’s that Duncan hunter guy doing?

It's always interesting to see what threads Angus and some other board conservatives choose to post on. Nothing on the impeachment thread, or Roger Stone guilty thread, but a story that puts a member of The Squad in a negative light? Let me post a link!

Pelosi's job is to do the President's legislative bidding?

man, i don't like pelosi but maybe she supports the trade deal for [reasons] ? i don't know shit about the deal but we can't just be anti everything automatically. her job is to be a legislator, not block everything the GOP does on the principal of "block the GOP at every turn"

Conservatives: We need to stop this impeachment and get back to governing.

Pelosi: We can do both.

Conservatives: What message does this send?!?!!!????

Damn. Did you just call townie a conservative? Fightin' words.

I'm not anti everything automatically. The lower drug prices bill I posted about last week is just another great example of what a bad leader she is. She and the President overlapped on exactly one legislative item, which was lowered drug prices, but neither party wanted to give the other a win. So instead you end up with a solution that helps nobody.

On USMCA Pelosi is getting goaded into a bad deal by Trump.

During Trump’s remarks, he appeared to discount the possibility that Democrats would ever act to approve the deal.

“She’s incapable of moving it,” he said before a meeting with the prime minister of Bulgaria. “It looks like she can’t. Everybody knows it’s a great deal. She knows it’s a great deal; she said it. … She keeps saying she wants to get it done, but we’re talking about many, many months sitting on her desk, no votes.”

The actual economic improvement is a rounding error, fixing problems that don't really exist without Trump.

"In a 379-page study released earlier this year, the International Trade Commission concluded that the USMCA would increase U.S. output by just 0.35 percent and create just 176,000 new jobs — effectively, a rounding error in a 152 million worker labor force.

The study said the greatest economic gains would come from the elimination of “uncertainty,” which administration critics blame the president for creating with his erratic trade policy in the first place."

Labor have held out for better enforcement, and neither side has really assured labor that Mexico has the money or the mechanisms to actually uphold labor protections that would help. And for my part, while I do tend to side with labor, I'm not sure protectionism is the right way to go about it.

My original point stands, why do the President's legislative bidding? This is another Pelosi do-nothing both sides will tout as a win.

USMCA is a non-deal. Of course, Canada will agree to the numbers of car importation and production as the critical ones have never been close to being met. Canada gave up nothing. They played Trump.

An example of this is for you to agree that you will go to rehab if you drink twenty shots of Crown Royal a night for a month when don't like Crown Royal and have never drunk more than five shots in one night in your life.

Townie, you are missing the big picture. Pelosi is using this non-event to take the legs out from under one of Trump's biggest attacks- it's a do nothing Congress. USMCA is one of Trump's favorite things. Pelosi is passing it for him and giving her (and Dems) a "whatabout".

El-Oh-El....

For the conservative media ecosystem in the age of Trump, it was the perfect storm, a chance to take down a swing-district Democrat by weaponizing the most sensitive aspects of her personal life against her, nearly driving her to suicide, as she shared in a New York Times op-ed Sunday.

Yeah that’s real laugh out loud funny.

Douche.

I've read that in some other articles too. I suppose if she had committed suicide Trumpites would have been satisfied. One less LibDem Socialist to deal with, and besides, any woman whose ex-hubby posts lewd pictures of her on the net probably had it coming, the slut.
