Ongoing Dem Debacle Thread: Commander will kill us all

childish, pouting Bernie Bros did impact the outcome. What they empirically showed is that they can't be trusted.
You're right. Simply being a Democrat is not enough for many voters. They have expectations and demands, and you can't "trust" them to fall in line and vote for whatever establishment candidate. You also can't win an election without them. So...yeah. Politicians serve the people, people don't serve the politicians. Anyway, it's good that you recognize that "Bernie Bros" didn't vote for Trump, they voted for Hillary, Jill Stein, or stayed home.

you have not shown that they have

in many (most?) states, anybody can pick which primary they vote for. what evidence do you have that the defectors were "Bernie Bros"?

A couple of pages back, MDMH posted a study that showed 10% of those who voted for Bernie voted for Trump. In PA, you can only vote in the primary of the party you have registered. In WI and MI, you can choose your party vote on election day.

Even if 25% of those who voted for Bernie in WI and MI were Republicans, the remainder would have been more than enough to swing their home state.

that's exactly the date I'm referencing

show me that they're Bernie Bros who are the defectors

13,000,000 voted for Bernie in the primary -- do you think there are 10+ million considered Bernie Bros?

To me the term "Bernie Bros" is a combination of true believers and those who voted for him in the primary. If MDMH's study is accurate about 1.3 million people changed from Bernie to Trump. They could have easily turned the election results.

But he wants it both ways. He says people changed sides, but it wasn't their fault.

Done with the topic. Not getting into some BS semantic argument about what constitutes a Bernie Bro, but based on what MDMH posted earlier, and the fact the Bernie Bros were the more mysoginistic Bernie supporters, I'd say a lot of the Bros were defectors or didn't vote for hillary. Point is and has been that people who voted for Bernie in the primary and did not vote for Hillary helped get Trump elected. End of story. Sorry it rankles your cankles, bruh.

And I'm sure all those Bros on Twitter being douchebags were either Octogenarians or dutifully pulled the lever for Hillary.

Cankles unrankled.

Trump won because of an outdated voting system and lots of bad voters.

Seems like blame is better placed on the ones that voted for him twice, voted for him once, or didn’t vote rather than tying blame back to the candidate that would have beat him head-to-head.

If you did these things:

-Voted for anyone other than Hillary Clinton
-Didn’t vote (because you were too lazy, didn’t register, didn’t care for any of the candidates, forgot)

You are to blame for Trump.

AOC may be..too online

It’s legit. But if you read the whole response where she includes it, it looks like bait.

AOC/socialists can even use metaphors correctly. Unless she’s a centrist sleeper agent

Dumb

Not surprisingly, Fox News is all over AOC's verbal misstep. Their website article includes multiple pejoratives for her phrase, including "disturbing", "bizarre", "strange", "cringeworthy", and so on. Strange how they almost never seem to give the same attention and pejoratives to Trump's tweets and words. The article also has a link to a video segment called "Ocasio-Cortez vs. the press". They've definitely found their successor to Hillary, all right.

-Happen to live in a swing state won by Trump should probably be thrown in here too. Popular vote means fuck all in this country, clearly

So Trump voters are absolved? I’m not on the elections board or anything, but I believe the way this works is that the only votes that are tallied are the ones *for* the candidates.

Did they vote for someone other than Clinton?

Imagine this same demand for partisanship, except about actual meaningful politics, instead of generic team membership.

So Trump voters are absolved in that they are no less responsible than someone who didn’t vote or voted third party.

This is like RJ claiming millennials are responsible for Trump because they didn’t stop the boomers from electing him.

The people who voted for Trump are responsible for electing him. That’s all.

Derp

It must be such a difficult burden to be one of the few engaging in actual meaningful politics. What a difficult cross to bear!
