There’s a host of Civil War battlefields in Virginia where those statues could placed.
I’m not celebrating anything. Just think moving them from the public square to the national battlefields is best way to dispose of them.
How many places have statues or the coach of the losing team?
Pretty sure Lee won a battle here or there in Virginia.

Well the governor of Virginia is unlikely to consult me for my opinion on the subject so if they decide to melt them down then I guess they went with another solution to the problem.
Put them in a field park/museum, but tip them on their side (like they're dead), and leave all the current graffiti paint on them. Surround them with plaques explaining (accurately) what the confederacy was, why they statues (and others) were erected, and why they were taken down.
