I feel like there is probably some disconnect between people who had all you could eat meal plans versus deacon dollars.

Freshman year I could go eat a shitty overpriced meal in the Pit using Deacon Dollars or I could use the same Deacon Dollars to sit on the balcony with cloth napkins and people refilling my tea while I enjoyed a BBQ sandwich and mashed potatoes.

Once I lived off campus I don't think I only went to the Pit or the Mag room when dragged there by my GF.

Dash - you have zero hand in this thing. You need to do the premature breakup.

I also never have eaten or even been in the Mag Room in my life. It was way too pretentious.

I could count on one hand the number of times I ate there. But I was also a vegetarian while I was at Wake, so I feel like that limited options. Subway and pizza hut were clutch.

We did definitely eat/smoke/drink off everyone's excess deacon dollars at the end of the semester, it was glorious.

Yep. I think I went to the Mag room maybe 4-5 times that I can recall?

I guess I would've eaten at the Pit a lot more on a meal plan, but with Deacon Dollars it was basically all the same. Since I lived in Piccolo freshman year we did a lot of eating at the IT food court - especially since that was the only Chick-fil-a on campus at that time. And what was that pasta place that was at IT and Benson? Pangea (or something like that)? Had that a lot. I definitely ate at the Pit a decent amount, but remember eating most weekday lunches in Benson, so I guess I did Pit for dinner and weekends? I can't remember.

The Mag Room had a little bit of a pretentious vibe, but that's not why I hardly ever ate there: their offerings were just limited. If you didn't care for what they were serving you were SOL.

The Pit, while far from fine dining, had more variety in food, drink, and fellow students to run into.

Also, omelette station.

What's the best way to tell if you can get away with perusing the boards at a new job with IT?

Look at a bunch of porn. If they don't seem to care, the boards should be fair game.

the sugar cookies were amazing.
+1

I also really dug the pit's blondies. Pretty good desserts all-around actually

I think I went to the Mag room once? Maybe twice? I did Chic Fil-A a lot, and when they put that salad place in Benson, that was my friggin jam. But mostly I was #teampit

Late night Subway was pretty money too. Though once I moved off-campus I came to appreciate that the Subway on Reynolda had a MOTHERFUCKING DRIVE THRU.
