Good bourbon

These were the directions on the Toddy.

[h=6]Hot Toddy[/h]In a large cup, combine 1 spoonful honey, juice of ¼ lemon, 1 cinnamon stick, small dash cayenne (optional but recommended) and the tea bag of your choice. Stick 3 cloves into 1 small lemon wedge and add to the cup. Pour in a slug of bourbon, as much or as little as you like. Fill cup with boiling water, stir well and let steep 5 minutes. Savor slowly; repeat as necessary.

bears and deacs - where did you get all that pappy?

It's been acquired over the years. I haven't bought any of the PVW 15 in the past year or so, once they switched from a mixture of Stitzel-Weller, Bernheim, and Buffalo Trace stock to all Buffalo Trace. I think most of my Van Winkle bottles were bottled in 2008 and 2009.

I have a Cinnamon Plum tea and a Blood-Orange Spice tea that go fabulously with whiskey. Definitely a nice way to warm up.

I actually made a toddy this weekend because I wanted to drink but it was too cold for a non-hot beverage. Used the Jim Beam.

My girlfriend has a bad cold bordering on the flu so I made this for her tonight.

I poured myself some Four Roses 2009 Mariage before the game starts. So good. This is my favorite of all the Limited Edition Small Batches that Four Roses has done. Definitely worth an immediate purchase if you ever come across a bottle still sitting on the shelf. The 2012 Limited Ed. Small Batch is almost as good, but this one from 2009 still gets the nod from me.

Inspired by the recipe in this thread, I made myself a hot toddy last night, finishing off the last of a bottle of bulleit that seemed to be bottomless. Very, very good drink.

WHY...does this problem never seem to happen to me?

I like bulleit, I just couldn't seem to push though it. I'm almost finished with a bottle of Knob that's been hanging around and once that's gone I'm going to crack a bottle of Elmer T. Lee I received a few months ago as a birthday present. I may try to convince Mrs. LCD that getting rid of two bottles means I can get another.

I just like imagining all the exotic bourbons that Bears and Deacs might possess.

Lol not too much exotic stuff. My every day drinker is Old Weller Antique. Great stuff. I also keep a bottle of Old Weller Antique and Weller 12 that I combined at a 1:1 ratio. Very good and easy to drink.

I've got a buddy that lives in Kentucky that has more exotic whisk(e)y than you can imagine. It's always a treat to drink at his place. It's whiskey that you may never see again.

I used the recipe myself last night and it was a very good drink. In fact I made 2 of them even though it wasn't that cold so I'm not sure if I got the full effect or not. Still tasty though.

If any of you are really interested in learning more about bourbon I'd suggest checking out www.straightbourbon.com. Tons of great info.

Are these people serious? They don't allow non-isp email addresses? This isn't 1990 anymore. Jesus christ.

How many people here will be getting one of Woodford's $1000 Mint Julep's for the KY Derby?
