Official Trump Swamp Thread: Still Corrupt as Fuck

The news wasn't "fake." She actually had the President's tax return (or at least part of it). The problem was the tax returns had basically zero value from a news perspective.

It was a cynical ratings grab. To the extent she had much in the way of credibility, she lost a good bit of it.

this was in fact fake news. they used a non story that shows no links to anything negative in his tax return to discuss "sources of Trumps money" They named mafia, russians etc None of which they have any proof of but apparently it is news because they need to have their suspicions proven wrong. it was disgusting to say the least.

sorry, but Sig is right. Just because it was overhyped and ultimately unimportant doesn't make it fake news

I think you have to watch the report and the segment to understand. yes it was overhyped yes it was a real tax return but to conflate that into russians and mafia is fake

How can having the actual, confirmed evidence be "fake"? This is among the craziest statements imaginable.

There's a difference between asking a question about the origin of the income and outright lies like Trump saying Obama wiretapped him. Then lying to say, that using the word wiretapping twice doesn't mean wiretapping. But 89 slurps that up.

Why do you need for it to be "fake news?" It was complete bullshit. Complete and total bullshit. But she said she had his tax returns, and she did.

When people are agreeing with you, stop arguing.

Bullshit speculation isn't fake news. That's just like her opinion, man.

Hate to do it, but 89 is right here. The segment was brutal - lots of hypothetical links to the Mafia, Russia, etc. The tax returns were real, but the segment was shit.

Nobody disagrees with that. Just the characterization of "fake news."

It was pretty much the definition of "fake news." Take something real - 2005 tax return - and use it to make tons of unproven accusations.

I think "fake news" is a little more like "Bill Clinton has an illegitimate son," or "the Clintons had 43 people killed" or "President Trump cares about people."

"President Trump is closely linked to the Russian mafia" is getting pretty close to that.

I'm not arguing with you buddy. I am saying she is fake news. the whole segment. If you watch it she dovetails into what the "tax return" doestn't tell you rips off questions about his ties to Russia and maria etc.

Fired U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara Said to Have Been Investigating HHS Secretary Tom Price

Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who was removed from his post by the Trump administration last week, was overseeing an investigation into stock trades made by the president’s health secretary, according to a person familiar with the office.

Tom Price, head of the Department of Health and Human Services, came under scrutiny during his confirmation hearings for investments he made while serving in Congress. The Georgia lawmaker traded hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of shares in health-related companies, even as he voted on and sponsored legislation affecting the industry.

Price testified at the time that his trades were lawful and transparent. Democrats accused him of potentially using his office to enrich himself. One lawmaker called for an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, citing concerns Price could have violated the STOCK Act, a 2012 law signed by President Obama that clarified that members of Congress cannot use nonpublic information for profit and requires them to promptly disclose their trades.

The investigation of Price’s trades by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, which hasn’t been previously disclosed, was underway at the time of Bharara’s dismissal, said the person.
