Official Trump Swamp Thread: Still Corrupt as Fuck

Here's an article with a handy map of all his holdings. Two things stand out - 1 - obviously the notion he's a massive failure who has no capacity to conduct business seems a bit flawed. You don't create something this large and entangled by being completely incapable, and - 2 - there is no way anyone can say with a straight face maintaining all of these entities won't somehow create, at a minimum, the appearance of conflicts somewhere down the road in the next four years. Did I add divesting from all of this would take a while?

TRUMP WHITE HOUSE SENIOR STAFF HAVE PRIVATE RNC EMAIL ACCOUNTS

"Senior Trump administration staffers including Kellyanne Conway, Jared Kushner, Sean Spicer and Steve Bannon have active accounts on a Republican National Committee email system, Newsweek has learned.

The system (rnchq.org) is the same one the George W. Bush administration was accused of using to evade transparency rules after claiming to have “lost” 22 million emails."

It's as if they were only worried about ethics so they could get their people in office to cash in.

Republicans have no values except power. The sooner we all learn and accept this, the better off we will be.

You People Made Me Give Up My Peanut Farm Before I Got To Be President

Jimmy Carter

39th President Of The United States

For generations, U.S. presidents have gone to great lengths to avoid potential conflicts of interest. When I was elected, I followed suit by placing my small business in a blind trust to assure our citizens that I would always put the country’s interests ahead of my own. It’s a vital presidential tradition. That’s why I find it a bit curious that our new commander-in-chief has been allowed to ignore it.

For Christ’s sake, you people made me get rid of my peanut farm before you let me be president.

There is a lot of blatant dipshittery on this thread, but this right here is a major fucking problem.

Which is the problem in your opinion?

Trump believes there is no conflict of interest.

or

Two ethics lawyers are challenging him.

Sorry, I had to ask. This is something everyone knew would be an issue and few Republicans seem to be worried about it.

Between us, although unlikely given that the pubs control congress, I think it could be the one thing that finally catches up with him.

I seriously doubt it. The rubes don't want to penalize him for being a "good businessman." He's installed cronies who are cashing in themselves. Elected Pubs don't want to upset the apple cart and given their plans to rig things in their favor long term, they're going to want to cash in too.

No chance. Pubs on the hill are too vulnerable from their right. You know Trump would drag them all down with him.

The top Democrats on six House committees on Wednesday demanded that the Defense Department explain a speaking fee paid to national security adviser Michael Flynn for a speech given in Russia in 2015, suggesting that he may have accepted a payment from a foreign government.

Flynn has acknowledged that on at least one occasion he was paid by the state-run Russian media outlet RT — through a speaker’s bureau — to speak about “radical Islam in the Middle East.”

When he gave the speech, during an RT gala in Moscow, Flynn dined with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Can you provide me with a list of all the people you consider to be working for Putin that are part of this administration?

Vincent Viola, Trump’s nominee to run the Army, withdraws from consideration

"He made his fortune after founding Virtu Financial, a high-frequency trading firm, and went on to purchase the Florida Panthers hockey team. That background proved complicated to untangle from and meet the Pentagon’s conflict of interest requirements."

Official Trump Admin Conflict of Interest Thread

We should rename this thread The Official Whammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmbulence thread.

None of you gave a shit when the Clintons went from poor Arkansas rubes to having a net worth in excess of $100 mil

Trump already said "fuck no, I'm not divesting" so yeah, he's gonna profit some from hotel ventures. As long as he drains the swamp it's a trade I'm cool with
