Official Trump Swamp Thread: Still Corrupt as Fuck

Ivanka Trump’s Landlord Is a Chilean Billionaire Suing the U.S. Government

The Obama administration in its waning days blocked a Luksic-company plan to build a giant copper-and-nickel mine adjacent to a Minnesota wilderness area, citing environmental concerns. The company and some Minnesota politicians are urging the Trump administration to reverse the decision.

Requests for comment from Mr. Luksic were referred to Rodrigo Terré, a relative of Mr. Luksic’s who manages the billionaire’s personal investments. Mr. Terré said that a Luksic company, Tracy DC Real Estate Inc., bought the Washington house as an investment and that the rental to the couple was coincidental. He said the couple was paying “absolute market value” in rent, declining to disclose the amount.

In Chile, a bank part-owned by Mr. Luksic’s family has been drawn into a continuing investigation involving a loan to the daughter-in-law of the president, whose popularity has plummeted over the controversy. Chilean bank regulators have said they didn’t find anything improper in the loan, and a spokeswoman for Chile’s attorney general said this week the loan isn’t currently part of the probe and Mr. Luksic isn’t among those being investigated.

Probably not a big deal, and down low on the list of a million Trump conflicts of interest, but how insane is it that a rich Chilean dude that wants something from the president happened to buy his first DC property after the election and is now renting it to Trump's family? Oh, and he is under investigation for a loan to the daughter-in-law of the Chilean president?

Also, they live around the corner from the Obamas.

Weird.

Looks like they did and no one blinked an eye. Again, great foresight and instincts coming out of the trump White House. At the end of the day, Trump and his band of jokers don't give two shits about anyone but themselves and winning the controversy du jour.

Attorneys for Michael Flynn, President Trump’s former national security adviser, informed the incoming White House legal counsel during the transition that Flynn might need to register with the government as a foreign agent — a phone call that raised no alarms within Trump’s team, despite the unusual circumstance of having a top national security post filled by someone whose work may have benefited a foreign government.

There's no conflict of interest. If you pay Trump, his family or friends enough, you can do anything you want to do. It's certainly not conflicting with what's best for Putin, Goldman-Sachs or EXXON-Mobil.

Pretty cool that he lets staff and secret service stay for free.

...and the GOP hand-jobs were pissed at Obama's spending and time on the golf course. Those "highly unacceptable" presidential vacation/spending and time on the golf course over 8 years will be surpassed in year one of this abortion of a president.

well, at least Trump is making money off the government hand over fist while the President.

Kushners Set to Get $400 Million From Chinese Firm on Tower

The details of the agreement, which is being circulated to attract additional investors, were shared with Bloomberg. It would make business partners of Kushner Cos. and Anbang, whose murky links to the Chinese power structure have raised national security concerns over its U.S. investments. In the process, an existing mortgage owed by the Kushners will be slashed to about a fifth of its current amount.

The document offers a rare look at a major deal by a close Trump associate and family member. It’s unclear whether the deal could prompt federal review, as occurred when Anbang bought other properties, like the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. Anbang could also face review by the Chinese government, which has been clamping down on overseas investments and which has a range of pending issues with the Trump administration.

Anbang would pay a hefty price for both sections of the 666 Fifth Ave. project but score its first U.S. real estate investment of the year. The company’s ties to the Chinese government are sufficiently unclear that former President Barack Obama declined to stay at the Waldorf after Anbang bought it because of fears of espionage. Now Anbang will be business partners with in-laws of the First Family.

With the Kushner deal, the trademarks, pimping for Ivanka's clothing line, the hotel in Baku and so many more, the Trump family is making Russian oligarchs blush with their corruption.
