Trying to figure out when this all comes home to roost. Already hedging my bets in the market a bit.
“The costs of U.S. tariffs have fallen entirely on U.S. businesses and households, with no clear reduction in the prices charged by Chinese exporters,” Goldman Sachs analysts wrote in a note to investors Monday. It also said “the effects of the tariffs have spilled over noticeably to the prices charged by US producers competing with tariff-affected goods.”
Any conservatives out there supporting this trade war should be ashamed of themselves. Out of everything Trump has done since taking office this is by far the most egregious.
Socialist handouts!
Yep. The party that hates Socialism is giving government taxpayer-funded goodies to GOP-loving farmers to protect them from the effects of the trade war their beloved leader started. It's almost like they love socialism as long as it's helping people like them. I still remember some right-wingers in the NC GOP legislature proposing a few years ago to "redistribute" some of the wealth from the state's growing, prospering urban counties to the dying rural counties across the state. They wouldn't call it socialism, though that's exactly what it was, it had some other name if I remember correctly. LOL.
Maybe they’re just setting up for some hybrid model of crony capitalism and socialism for rural white people. We need to look at where the money is going.

Another article on how farmers are "starting to lose hope" that Trump's trade war will be successful and that their losses will end soon. I wonder how many of them voted for Trump last time, and will do so again next year (while staring bankruptcy in the face?)
