Limited damage and casualties, primarily a symbolic retaliation for them to claim revenge. Could be a hell of a lot worse.

Unless it’s like they say and this is just a start of the attacks, or trump escalates the situation. Both are possible.

The smart play is to wait this out, and let the situation die now naturally. Tehran most likely does not want all out war with the west, but they have to save face. Let them save and get out of a bad decision without a catastrophic consequence.

I have little faith in Trump.

How many people were at these bases? It looks like there's 5500 troops in total in Iraq, and there are only about 7 bases total ?

People already moving blame to Iran for war. We started this war by assassinating Suleimani. Up until then it was proxy fighting that happens every day. We funded "terrorists" in Syria, would we have been cool with Russia assassinating Biden or Hillary? Not a chance.

These bases are huge in land mass. They could have aimed at the open spaces.

Ummmm...60 million or so Americans and a majority of the United States Senate probably would have been cool with that.

Nah, the only thing they hate more than Libs are Muslims. Would've been an amazing battle of conscience though. Well, 60 million...you're probably right.
