Wake Forest Football Recruiting

Yeah Locksley has a shit ton of baggage in addition to having a horrific record as a head coach. Somehow spending a season on Saban’s staff causes the people making these hiring decisions to just completely overlook past track record.

Yes the Maryland faithful think he was rehabilitated by the year with St Saban.

Which is why I call those quick stops in Bama “rehab stints.”

3-31?
Really?
Wow.

Not just 3-31. The NM program was an utter mess; this is an excerpt from wiki:

In late May 2009, a former administrative assistant at New Mexico filed an age and sex discrimination complaint against Locksley with the Equal Opportunity Commission.[13] The complaint was filed by Locksley's former administrative assistant Sylvia Lopez, who claimed to have been subjected to age and sexual discrimination before being transferred out of Locksley's office. The claims were later withdrawn.[14]

In late September 2009, Locksley was reprimanded for an altercation with an assistant coach. He was subsequently suspended without pay for ten days.[15] He was not on the sideline for the game against UNLV on October 24, 2009.[16] Locksley led his Lobos to 1–11 records his first and second seasons. The high buyout was a large reason UNM chose at first not to fire him.[17] New Mexico athletic director Paul Krebs, who made the decision to retain Locksley, expected improvement in the 2011 season.[18] On September 25, 2011, Locksley was relieved of his duties following an 0–4 start that culminated in a loss at home to FCS Sam Houston State as well as the arrest of a minor for a DWI while driving a car registered to Locksley's 19-year-old son Meiko, a member of the Lobo Football team.

Locksley didn't just suck at coaching football at NM; he sucked at running every aspect of their program.

We lost the recruiting battles for Greene and Groulx too. Then we won them.

Just sticking a FYI here that former QB Matt Considine has landed at Holy Cross. They play in the Patriot League. Their first game is @Navy and also play @Syracuse this year.

Hope he does well.
He shouldn't have any problem about seeing over the line.

Pit stop before the NFL. Good luck to Matthew.

Former UVA commit Tiquest Terry committed to Youngstown State. Wake was in the mix since the beginning.

Shane Whitter blew up at the combine and is now a high 3 star composite. 247 has him as a 4 star.

**Shane Whitter, LB, Burlington (N.C.) Walter Williams - The Wake Forest pledge has posted some of the nation's best testing numbers among linebacker prospects this spring on more than one occasion. At The Opening's Charlotte Regional in March, Whitter posted a 4.51 second 40-yard dash- which is the second fastest time at the position in the nation in 2019. He followed that up with a very strong showing at a Shrine Bowl Combine, running a 4.44 second 40-yard dash (fastest at the combine) and a 4.28 second short shuttle. Speed and ability to play in space is highly coveted and translatable at the linebacker position and Whitter brings those skills in spades. At 6-foot, 222 pounds, he also packs a punch on contact and has strong striking power. He's a physical linebacker who happens to be an elite athlete. The Wake Forest staff under Dave Clawson has done a nice job making early evaluations on some top athletes in the last few cycles and Whitter looks to be another strong get for the Demon Deacons. – PowerThe move: Whitter jumps into the four-star range with a 90 rating. He’s not quite crossed the Top247 threshold but given his athletic profile, it’s not hard to envision a continued climb as senior film emerges.
