Wake Forest Football Recruiting

He's 2022 but 2020 not counting does factor in.

Oops. My misread on his arrival year. Mora will be a red shirt soph that season. Punting competition could get interesting in 22 and 23.

Both Mora and McFerson can kick and punt. Figure that they will each focus on one of these as well as serving as the back up for the other kicking duty. We’re in great shape here for years to come.

I don't know why more big time programs don't put more into their specialists so they can set it and forget it instead of holding tryouts and such. I guess if it's between devoting time toward a punter vs. getting a 4th 4* DL in the class, screw the punter.

Didn’t Wake get Sam Swank from UGa because we offered a scholly and Richt didn’t?

Seems like Alabama for instance has issues with their FG kicking every year. I see more clips of Saban yelling at his kicker for missing a 25 yarder than I’d expect for the best program in the country. Shouldn’t they be getting the best kicker in the country? Or trying anyway, instead of pulling some random kid out of a dorm on game day with two left feet?

Maybe Bama and some other top teams think they will score TDs every time they have the ball and, therefore, have little use for a punter or kicker.
Meanwhile, we get the best ones.

There’s some stat that Bama is the worst field goal kicking team in FBS going back a certain number of years.

By having good kickers, anytime Wake gets the ball inside the opponent's 35 yard line Wake is in good position to score.

As the person who screamed at Grobe when they lined up to punt near midfield early in the fourth quarter and said he was giving up if he punted. They called a timeout, went for it and didn’t make it and then Heyward-Bey ran to the three or so. I was feeling pretty stupid till Alfonzo ran back the int to get us going. Felt really good after a dominant OT.

Nick Anderson has a nose for the ball. Looks like he could develop into a nice special teams coverage guy. Just watched his junior year highlights. He’s a sure tackler and takes great angles. Likes contact.

Fully on the Nick Anderson bandwagon. He caught touchdowns, run punts back all the way, is a solid punter, and as mentioned is a great tackler as a safety.

I’m glad to have someone on the nick Anderson bandwagon with me,

Another Nick Anderson fan here. Great video.

Credit where credit is due.

Nice, thanks for linking back, I was wondering/thinking that he was definitely a recruited PWO-type when I was watching the game Saturday. Great pickup by Claws, for sure.

What is recruiting impact of beating both Virginia’s in the Commonwealth?

Honestly, it probably just puts us on their radar. I think it’s a huge detriment that we don’t play VT and UVA more often with respect to recruiting that area. This is the first year since 1983 we played both UVA and VT.

Haven’t played VT back to back since 2010-2011.

Maybe adding ND and going to 15 teams will change up the schedules a bit to give us more games against UNC, UVa, and VT.

Our pick of walk-ons.

Great, spot on, and accurate answer.

I'm still amazed at how few decision makers out there realize how strong the WF program really is. Bad on one level. Good on another I guess.
