"Germany must stand up in opposition to the 45th president of the United States and his government. That's difficult enough already for two reasons: Because it is from the Americans that we obtained our liberal democracy in the first place; and because it is unclear how the brute and choleric man on the other side will react to diplomatic pressure. The fact that opposition to the American government can only succeed when mounted together with Asian and African partners -- and no doubt with our partners in Europe, with the EU -- doesn't make the situation any easier.

....

It is literally painful to write this sentence, but the president of the United States is a pathological liar. The president of the U.S. is a racist (it also hurts to write this). He is attempting a coup from the top; he wants to establish an illiberal democracy, or worse; he wants to undermine the balance of power. He fired an acting attorney general who held a differing opinion from his own and accused her of "betrayal." This is the vocabulary used by Nero, the emperor and destroyer of Rome. It is the way tyrants think."

WFR, and most of the rest of you, take pleasure in seeing your president attacked by foreigners. Sick.

Do other countries respect us yet?

The bold is what happens when people who don't understand how a particular thing works opine on it anyways.

Sort of like knowell's takes on government.

Yeah it's like using the "democrats were pro slavery" statements. The statement is literally true but doesn't support the next logical step.

The constant "Trump is a racist" bullshit has no basis in facts, but that kind of talk is necessary to stoke the Democrats' base. Really pitiful that the Democratic Party has fallen so far.

Why would Der Spiegel care at all about the base of the Democratic Party in the US?

You mean a government official who refused to do her sworn duty? Don't be a joke.

Where do you think all that nonsense originated from? It didn't start in Germany. They are just mimicking what the Democrats, MSM & Hollywood say day after day after day. They are all like a bunch of mynah birds. (You and many others on this board are guilty of this too, by the way. The idea is that if you say something often and long enough, it somehow becomes a fact.)

NPRs On Point did their second hour today on this subject and more broadly our changing relationship with all allies around the world, really good episode: http://www.wbur.org/onpoint/2017/02/06/trump-europe-mexico-allies-australia

Or what Trump tweets. Or when he calls Mexicans drug dealers, murderers, rapists, etc. Or when he says blacks get shot leaving their homes.. Or when he sets up what's effectively a ban on Muslims (including those who helped the American military). Or when he has the CEO of an extremely prominent website that is aligned with the alt-right (white supremacists) as his Chief Advisor.

These are all indisputable facts and things Trump has said or done himself.

But Massa Bob is OK with it.

Its pretty silly to condemn Trump for trying to shut down the media as being a dictator while at the same time not being able to refer to a major media outlet that slants in opposition to your affiliation without dropping "White Supremacist" in there.

I don't think Trump is a racist. He is supported by them though. Steve Bannon is definitely a racist. He seems to be in charge anyway. Trump is a patsy.

Most people who were as completely wrong about the election as RJ was would be at least a little bit humbled after they were proven to be completely clueless about what had just happened....but not RJ (and many others on these boards....everyone knows who they are). Take FMR, for example. He led the charge in the Hillary Landslide Brigade....but at least he has been mostly quiet since he was made a fool of by the election. Even DeacsPop, who claimed that Hillary would win the popular vote by 20%, has been pretty quiet since the election. RJ & these others, though, have rattled on just like nobody knew that they had just made total fools of themselves with their predictions of 340 electoral votes for Hillary and that the election was not going to be just a win, but a total joke. And in their smug arrogance, they still do not seem to yet understand how big of a fool they made of themselves with their grossly overconfident predictions. They are, evidently, completely shameless. Well, the joke turned out to be all these so-called experts who thought this election was just going to be a walk in the park for Hillary. They have lived in their Liberal Circle Jerk of reinforcing each other's opinions for so long that they had no idea what was going on out there in the country among average working Americans.

So, RJ prattles on & on. He said Hillary would get 340 electoral votes. Now, he says with equal confidence that the Democrats will lose no more than a seat or two...if that...in the mid-term elections. RJ is the gift that keeps on giving. I guess that he has nothing else to do, or he wouldn't have 48,000 posts here.

MASSA Bob, why do you keep on lying? I said an O/U MAY BE 340, not WOULD or SHOULD or IS. Words mean something to most. RE: Mid-terms- You takes "ideas" and say they are written in stone. And I gave reasons for my projections. These things change.

MASSA BOB, why don't you just go back to telling black people how to live and vote. You've been practicing it so much.
