2017 NBA Draft thread - JC drafted 19th to Atlanta, OUR... Hawks?

No shit. You do realize these guys have some of the same shortcomings, right?

Paul was too small.
Felton no J.
Deron too slow.

Somehow they still went 3/4/5 in the draft.

I didn't think Felton should have gone that high in the draft. Remember McCancer and Piblsbury Dough-May also went in the lottery that year and Marvin Williams was taken ahead of CP3.

I was simply making an observation that I didn't think Felton or Jack were in the class of CP3 and DWill.

McCants was an NBA player skill wise just a head case

Some could say he was Born to be Hated

Duke's Harry Giles is headed to the NBA Draft and is expected to sign with an agent.

Markkanen from Zona and Leaf from UCLA declared today. Both are forwards who will be compared to Collins throughout the process

Yeah, I just don't think Collins come back if he's top 20-25 unless he really wants more exposure. Even if he averages 25/10 next year and wins ACCPOY, he'll still go behind a lot of elite one and dones.

Much weaker draft class next year though. Lot of variables to think about.

Yeah, I know this is gonna be a shocker, but I was not impressed with some of the top guys in the McDs game last night. Porter, Duval and Bamba look like nice prospects, but I don't know if any of them are franchise guys. Don't really get the Ayton buzz.

Draft class next year is deeper with post players though. The highest rated post player in this draft seems to be Lauri Markkanen at 8-10, Collins seems to be around the 5-8th highest rated post player in this draft, which projects him in the 16 - 24 range. If Collins were the 5th highest rated post in this draft, and the 8th highest in the 2018 draft he probably gets drafted in the same 16-24 range.

From the above column... Didn't realize it was Insider:

"Collins was one of the most efficient players in college basketball the past two years. He plays hard, scores in the paint and rebounds well.

He still needs to develop more of a face-up game, but the raw tools are there."

There are some dumb dumbs in there.

I was 90%+ sure that Collins would go to the NBA... But if he's a borderline 1st round pick (and gets that feedback), I don't think it is that much of a stretch to assume he might come back.

Call me: 75% NBA Draft / 25% Returns for Junior season
