Women's Golf

Need for the men's tennis team to work with our other sports team. That team is made up of warriors. Other teams seem to have a problem with the big stage. Hope the girls get it together. It appears the course is a monster. Be interesting to see how the men do

this women's team won the conference championship by 8 strokes; their #2 and #3 golfers went 1-2 in the conference, beating the nearest competitor by 7 and 5 strokes, respectively

the team's #1 has won just about every individual accolade an amateur golfer can win - wire to wire NCAA champion, #1 amateur in the world, inaugural Augusta amateur champion, two-time NCAA regional champion, winner of the Curtis Cup and Palmer Cup, more rounds in the 60's than any female golfer in NCAA history, etc., etc.

they're fine. It's a tough field and a tough course.

Unreal that this course is playing tougher for Jennifer than Augusta National!!!

The 9th hole is a 264 yard par 4. WF is +5, including a triple on that hole.

^the average team is playing #9 at +3.2 - it's a tough hole for whatever reason

We are falling apart. Every hole seems like we drop more strokes. Someone needs to suck it up and make some shots. Now at +15

as someone said earlier hopefully the tennis team gets in their ear ....

We need a couple of birdies. It's been a while.

Tennis team in Orlando and probably did not make the trip to Arkansas to urge the ladies on. Hopefully will make some phone calls tonight.

Actually managing the course well and keeping the doubles and worse down, but we aren't making any birdies.

Our 4 and 5 getting in at a combined +6 is keeping us in contention. Combined +22 out of 1 thorugh 3 (so far) would have normally left us way out of contention after day one

This is something like 3 or 4 years in a row the course has embarrassed the ladies when it hosts them the week before the men's championship.

At the end of the day we should be top 8.

Kupcho shoots a +5 and neither of our other top 3 has a good round.

good play out of 4 and 5 saved us today.

Hopefully our top 3 will have much better days tomorrow, but we are where we need to be.

Yeah, Bagnoli earned her scholarship today alone

Kupcho has seemed...mortal since winning the Augusta tournament. Not an unusual reaction to such a huge win. Hope she rebounds over the next few days.

We put together a solid round overall. Barring disaster we will be top 10 and are ahead of everyone who teed off this morning.

Looks like we ended up + 18 which would be tied for seventh. Considering our top three combine to go + 24 we could have easily shot ourselves out of contention today.

I bet we had among the fewest birdies out of any team in the field today and certainly among the top half of the field.

Started on the killer back nine this morning and are only +2. Huge improvement from yesterday if they can hang on, then play the front nine well under par.
SCal is -8 on the front nine and leads.......13 strokes ahead of us, but I'm looking for the gap to close a lot when we switch nines.

We're going the wrong way. Emilia and Jennifer need to play better for us to have a chance - we aren't deep enough to survive them being mortal.
