Women's Golf

Stoke play reduced to 54 holes. It would be good for us if the course played really hard tomorrow.

Kupcho dropped another shot so we are +24 over, but indications are that the course is playing tough this morning.

Does this mean only top 8 advance after 54 holes and then match play happens?

I guess, they will wrap up round 2 today and then have round 3 tomorrow.

8th place right now is +22 over, so we will very likely be top 8 by the end of the day.

Hopefully our top guns bring it tomorrow.

Wake could be as high as 7th by the end of play. Course definitely looks to be tougher today, but Wake needs to take advantage of the day off to get back on track if they want to advance to match play.

Illinois charging up the leaderboard, led by their #5, who is -4 thru 8 after shooting a 90 in Round 1.

Are top 8 seedings based on how you finish the tourney or national rankings?

Gotta figure they will come back to earth. You really want all of these teams (or at least most) to have terrible rounds. The less competition for the final spot(s) the better.

There are going to be a bunch of teams packed around that eighth spot heading into tomorrow. Hopefully the ladies take advantage of this day off to get their games sharpened up for the battle.

24th is now tied for 7th. I am betting that most of these teams drop several more shots by the end of the day. Maybe one or two will be within 2 or 3 shots.

We dodged a bullet with the course playing tough today so we are on to the finals

wonder what is making the course so difficult - layout such as rough, pin placement, conditions such as wind, etc.?

like it when a course is a challenge but many of these scores seems to point out overkill or something.

Ole Miss and Purdue are ahead of us for now, but they have yet to play the back nine, which has been extremely difficult.
Look for both of these teams to pass us heading down the leaderboard.
If that happens, we'll be tied with Auburn for 7th. Although Illinois is playing well and could pass us, leaving us in a tie for 8th.

Looks like Wake will be in a cluster from 6-12 which will be fighting for 3 spots. Two teams at 13 are currently 6 strokes back of 12th, so will likely not be a factor.

Our All American Quality players are going to have to play like all Americans tomorrow and they haven't so far. Really surprising that we're even in contention with none of our top three being in the top 60

Agree. Either our top 3 are going to play to their ability and lead us to match play, or they aren’t and we’ll be headed home. Really as simple as that.

Looks like we will go into tomorrow tied for 9th. There are 7 teams between +20 and +28 that are pretty tight.

Finished tied for ninth after second round. If the ladies play to their ability they should qualify for match play.
