Women's Golf

The Wake women's team set a school record at the last tournament with a -14 round. They tied that record today and broke the Bryan Park course record. They lead by 11 shots after the first round.

This is a heck of a team. Good shot at a Natty this year.

Have played Bryan Park a number of times but not recently.

Kupcho is the best player in the country and it’s not even close and the last two tournaments when she has two or three teammates playing as good as her it’s laughable that these other teams aren’t even competitive.

We need to move our ladies back to the tips just to keep their interest.

It's a shame that we couldn't even field a complete team during most of Kupcho's tenure.

I think the Women's Golf team is in good hands and I expect big things out of that program.

Crazy that Kim is the best women’s golf coach in the country and so is our tennis coach and football coach and soccer coach and pretty much every other coach except men’s hoops coach is the worst in the country. Statistically impossible but we found a way to do it.

Wasn't it last year we not competitive at all? Now a drastic change to very good - what's the story?

Enough good players are healthy to have a full team. Also, a few of the young women have stepped up their game.

Last year we were playing at least one and sometimes two walkons in our lineup.

Our top 3 is playing better, but last year they were very competitive nationally, but an 85 counting killed our team score.

Wake now at -20. NC State at -8 is the only other team below par.
And Wake has the top 2 individuals with Kupcho (-8) and Migliaccio (-7).

Another dominating performance so far.

And they will both be playing at the first Augusta National Women's Amateur next weekend. That will be a special event no matter the outcome.

Unfortunately there will be very few spectators.
Mostly family and a very limited number of tickets that were sold months ago.
Our 2 players should do very well. Putting will be crucial.

Wake Forest:
Tied its lowest 18 hole record (for the second time this tournament)
Broke its 54 hole record by 11 strokes
Won by 32 strokes
Had two golfers finish tied for first at 12 under par
Had the third place finisher at 5 under par
Had a golfer tie for fourth place at 4 under par
Had its fifth golfer finish tied for 8th place

A pretty dominant performance coming off the last dominating performance in the Dominican Republic tourney.

And this tournament included UNC, NC State, UVA, Ohio State, etc.

This was even more than dominating today.
Hope our top 2 stay hot for Augusta next week.

Shooting 34 under when the record is 13 under is pretty impressive

The ladies put on an impressive performance. Hopefully, they maintain their edge through the ACC and NCAA tournaments.
