There are multiple democracies around the world that are under assault from populist right-wing politicians within their own borders. Some, like Hungary and Turkey, have already ceased to be functioning democracies, others like Israel and Brazil are getting dangerously close. No doubt Trump, Boris Johnson, and Scott Morrison in Australia have authoritarian tendencies, but their democracies are much more deeply entrenched and established, and they're having a more difficult time implementing what they want to do. But drop by drop they're clearly breaking long-held traditions and precedents (legal and historical) and moving their nations in a more authoritarian direction.
 
I keep seeing that whether or not there are elections, Trump and Pence’s term has to end on January 20, 2021. But who enforces that? The Trump Supreme Court? What if Trump and his people don’t leave voluntarily? Who forces them out to move the Speaker of the House in?
 
And this is why we should all be worried that even an indictment of Trump won't stop that train in 2024.
 


Seems like a lesson here for failing to hold those in power accountable.

First of the court system "reform" bills has passed. Kinda like a bad wreck "reforms" the sheet metal of your car.
