North Korea Nuclear Ready

I agree with that 100%

he's not the only insecure narcissist in this equation, and the other one had his neighbors extremely concerned as of September 2016 through a series of provocative actions

If we allow for your contention that North Korea has not escalated since Trump was elected, and that their escalation had already begun and moved forward, would you allow that Trump has unequivocally made it worse?

North Korea was always going to increase provocation especially when they are being ignored. The problem with Trump is the narcissism, his inability to think about anything but himself means that the death and destruction of millions of people in south east Asia means nothing. That was deterrent number for North Korea, without that care they need to get bolder.

Tintin, that's about one event. Since Trump has taken office, Kim has been doing provocative actions almost weekly. No leader on the planet has any respect whatsoever for Trump. World leaders think he's a moron and can be easily played and they are correct.

After Bush took over in 2000, they said in early 2001: Pyongyang threatens to “take thousand-fold revenge” on the United States “and its black-hearted intention to torpedo the dialogue between north and south [Korea].” The statement, issued by the Korean Central News Agency, called Washington’s new policies “hostile” and noted that Pyongyang remains “fully prepared for both dialogue and war.”

After Obama took over in 2008, they performed a second nuclear test in 2009: https://mobile.nytimes.com/2009/05/25/world/asia/25nuke.html

After Trump takes over, they start saber rattling again. Do you see a pattern here?

Maybe it's been posted because I haven't read this whole thread, but, here is an interesting piece by this American Life David Kestenbaum from about a month ago exploring how 10 years ago experts all said it was 10 years until NK would be nuclear capable, and now here we are 10 years later and they are Nuclear capable.

Sorry, but Trump has fucked a lot of things as President but this situation has been a long time coming but we've been too busy fucking around in Iraq.

You may be right. Feels like we've ignored this for far too long. Not sure what the fix is at this point.

Probably figuring out a way to coexist with a nuclear NK. Because unless they do something to really piss off China and Russia, those two are going to do everything they can to protect the Kim government.

in a few years once the tech is there south korea could launch a surprise #robotattack or go in with rainbow six #regimechange

A military strike is off the table unless it's determined to be worth costing the lives of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of South Koreans. North Korea will launch conventional, biological and chemical weapons upon South Korea (and NK would also at least try to strike Japan) if there's even a single surgical strike on North Korea, and there's no chance that South Korea could intercept every weapon that North Korea would use.

A Coup d'état would appear to be the only possible way to stem the NK threat without a massive loss of innocent life, and the world (outside of possibly China) has been trying to foment that for decades with no success. Really is a cluster****.

Is there any possibility of a complete decimation of NK military assets before they can fire a retaliatory strike? I don't know how feasible it would be, but it would be the only way to save SK.
