Cool. Now we can possibly draft:

Devin White, LB, LSU (Shaq is a UFA after this year)
Brian Burns, EDGE, Florida State
Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson
D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss
Andrew Dillard, OT, Washington State

Unless Sweat falls to us, those are the guys who I think might be available to us when we draft and they're all at positions of need, some moreso than others.

Shaq has been a lowkey waste of a first round pick

I will beat this horse until it's disintegrated, but I will never forgive G-Man for taking him (keep in mind he was a safety in college) ahead of Landon Collins.

Hurney 2.0 continues to be pretty solid tho with this Center pickup. Anybody know how much cap space we have left?

Shaq is a solid player, but he wasn't as good as the player he was drafted to replace. Then we insist on using nickel packages instead of letting a former safety cover on 3rd down.

exactly

so he's been a backup his whole rookie deal and now we're gonna get one year out of him as a starter before he's an UFA

so stupid

Well Butler's just not good. That's a different type of waste.

Tepper and the Panthers brass talking to SC governor today. Will Cooper, Moore, and Berger do anything ? Nah !!!!

South Carolina legislators could consider changing state law in order to bring the Carolina Panthers’ new team headquarters and training facilities to the state.

Discussions about a new campus are in their preliminary stages. The Charlotte Observer has reported that the Panthers may be drumming up interest from both Carolinas to get the best incentives deal, much like other corporations in the Charlotte region have done.

Panthers owner David Tepper and other team officials are scheduled to meet with S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster and legislative leaders at the Governor’s Mansion at 9 a.m. Wednesday, sources told The State.

The Panthers’ legal team also met with a top state senator last week to discuss legislation that might be necessary to move the Panthers across the border.

2018 Carolina Panthers RIP

“For example, under S.C. law, players on the Panthers’ 53-man roster don’t work enough hours to count as full-time employees. The S.C. Legislature would need to pass a revision to that law so the Panthers could get credit — and incentives — for bringing more jobs to the Palmetto State.”

There are plenty of other jobs. Why does the 53 man roster matter?

Seems weird to change laws to give tax incentives to move “jobs” that wouldn’t really require any employees to move.

That ESPN article is good. AB, OBJ, Mack. Three likely HOF players traded in the last two offseasons. Big trades used to be very rare in the NFL.

Because more jobs and higher paying jobs means more tax credits. They would also be eligible for more tax credits in Lancaster County than York County due to the lesser economic profile in Lancaster.

So Tepper doesn't have a specific location in mind. I just assumed Rock Hill.

Rock Hill mayor says the Panthers don't haven't identified a specific site. York Co probably makes the most sense for the team but all the way to Rock Hill is too far imo.
