This is probably the best oline we have had with Cam. And Jackson/Bradberry/Reid/Boston is a decent secondary, we are thin there but it is decent.

best oline weve had...only because of how bad they have been. we finally got rid of bad khalil and reimers who are probably 2 of the worst o line players in the league..
but the oline still sucks..we have invested barely anything into our line since getting embarrassed in that super bowl because of our lack of protection. did you seriously just bring up tre boston? lol eric reid is the only one out of those 4 who are starter worthy in this league...and its still undetermined if he is the player he used to be

For someone with such a beautiful family you sure carry a lot of trailer park boomer angst towards Cam.
 
Grier is terrible. Heinicke or however you spell it is much better. So is the guy that played the last game for the Panthers last year.

I am okay with taking a flyer on a QB buck this guy is bad all the way around. Would have been much better off picking up an ex Wake QB from the minors.
 
Maybe this was a brilliant move by Hurney to get the haters off Cam’s back. Draft a white QB who was a highly touted local prospect and even went to West By God Virginia. Get the haters excited and then put the kid out there and let him suck. Shut the haters up.
 
It is a little weird that our QB order is so set in stone when Heinecke was the #2 up until Week 16 last year. Time to change up the rotation against the Pats

i mean they are starter worthy if you want a bad secondary. bradberrys slow and gets beat deep too often because we have no safeties and Jackson is a headcase. there is hope for Jackson...but hes not there yet

Don't you think the preseason is to see how players perform? How can you do that without putting them in a game? Captain obvious is pretty obvious. We know what Heinecke can do and Allen (somewhat) giving Grier a chance is the only way to see how he does. I'd say the jury is still out.

The jury is still out on whether Grier will be awful or just really bad.
 
The worst part about picking Greer is that we’ve seen that Allen and Heinecke are decent backup QBs in actual games.
 
^ This. Spending a third rounder on a QB goes against both best player available and team needs strategies. It's fishing - a luxury our lineup does not have.
 
It’s just a really poor way to address Cam’s shoulder issues. A 3rd round rookie isn’t going to be able to get to the playoffs or win if Cam gets injured during a playoff run. If Cam wasn’t ready at all, we would suck with Grier and be in a similar position to the Cards this year. The only way that move works is if Cam is done and Grier is a top rookie QB from day 1.
