Crisis in Puerto Rico

Those Puerto Ricans are going to have to leave the island and they are likely to end up in Florida. How many of those that are displaced do you think will vote Republican in 2018 and 2020?

You all are pathetic as Trump and your party never skips a good opportunity to make a good disaster into a racial fiasco. Before this hit, there were articles saying PR could be without power for several months. This isn't Texas or Florida with several routes in and out and infrastructure in place to aid with recovery. Texas and Florida had that and a National Guard that was ready and in place thanks to their Governors. PR is having issues with their NG, in part because so many were affected by this. To top it off, PR is generally an island shithole, so you're not working with much to begin with.

Trump is tone deaf as usual and really shouldn't have added those remarks about how PR is going to pay for it, but the federales are doing what they can. Madame Mayor has to live there and get reelected, so of course she's pulling a Ray Nagan and blaming Trump.

I thought she came off as begging Trump and other countries for help.

Anyone attempting to defend the trump administration's response to Puerto Rico full of US citizens needs to explain the juxtaposition with the previous Haiti earthquake and Japanese tsunami response. I'll wait, and be waiting a very long time.

This is a nice summary of every response I expect to get regarding PR from Trump supporters.

"Donald J. Trump ✔@realDonaldTrump
...Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. They....

Trump tweeting about those lazy brown people who speak Spanish.

A real leader would have mobilized the largest and best-equipped military the world has ever known to be there immediately after the storm passed. Passing the buck ain't leadership, man. The buck stops with the POTUS, whether it is an island or not. US citizens. If this is truley all that can be done with a Navy like ours, all those trillions of dollars we have spent were for naught. Sad

Don't be dense. "Tone deaf" is a pretty generous way to describe tweets that are basically mocking a devastated situation. Guy is an unmitigated piece of shit.

Blaming Puerto Ricans for “not helping” and “wanting everything done for them” is one of the most vile things he’s said so far. Can you imagine struggling to get through each day after this disaster and hearing your president say that. I’m so embarrassed by him.

Once again, a tweet for every occasion.

200,000 people died in Haiti. I've read of 2 deaths so far in Puerto Rico.

Looks like you never miss an opportunity to turn something into politics.

And it looks like the mayor of San Juan means exactly what she said. She needs some fucking help.
