Biggest Reform EVER passed thread

According to polls, Obama still gets more credit for the current economy than does Trump: http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/370161-poll-more-americans-credit-obama-than-trump-for-economy and http://news.gallup.com/poll/225782/obama-gets-credit-trump-improved-economy.aspx. To quote one of the articles: "Voters have regularly said in polls that Obama is more responsible for the economy than Trump." Maybe that's why, despite the economy, Trump is still struggling to get above 40% approval in polls.

Or people don’t approve of Trump and that’s why they’re not giving him credit.

Wow. So Exxon spent $15B this year.
And they weren’t going to spend a single dime over the next four years then the tax cuts passed and now they are going to spend $35B!?!!?! That is impressive.

Just in case the sarcasm in my post isn't clear, they spent $15B this year and after the tax cuts, they're committed to spend 33% less per year over the next four years ($35B). How is that good?

To be fair, 2% does qualify as a trickle...

Any more people getting raises and being happy would be "waterfall" economics, which could be misconstrued as socialism.

You guys are talking to a crumb guzzler, just feed him anything and he’ll be on his knees waiting.

crumbsnatcher thinks less of a withholding is a raise.

corporations and small business were going to pass their tax savings to their employees lol.

GOP supply-side con enters newest phase and dimwitted American public laps it up again, led by WFU grad accountant

I would like to formally thank Trump for the 2.3% increase in my net paycheck.

I can give it back in exchange for good government?

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Wait, I thought people getting paid more in their paychecks was at like only 28% approval according to all the #pollingdata a few months ago

“It’s just one poll from one polling outlet (albeit one given an A+ rating for accuracy and sound methodology by FiveThirtyEight). But for Democrats already concerned about the love shown the president in snap polls following last night’s State of the Union address, the first 2018 national survey from Monmouth University lands like a punch in the mouth” [New York Magazine (Re Silc)]. “[Trump’s] December job approval rating, at 32 percent, was his lowest since taking office, according to Monmouth’s temperature readings. Now it has bounced up to 42 percent….Worst of all for Dems, a 15-point advantage in the generic congressional ballot in December (51/36) is now down to two points (47/45). This equals the smallest Democratic advantage in any poll since the beginning of the current election cycle.” Nine months is a long time in politics.

people's paychecks literally go up tomorrow. You're a fake news junkie.

a change in tax policy is not a raise or a bonus

why would anyone expect a change in tax law to give them a raise or a bonus? The fact that anyone got raises and bonuses should be a pleasant surprise. LOL at the people bitching that they didn't get a raise!

The problem isn't the bonuses, it's that the bonuses are a clear PR pitch from companies getting a huge tax cut to help Republicans sell their law to the public. Which is super corrupt.

And who could've seen this coming:
