[h=1]Gun-maker stocks rally after mass shooting in Las Vegas[/h]
[h=2]Smith & Wesson parent American Outdoor shares jump nearly 4% in midday trade[/h]
Shares of gun makers rallied Monday, in the wake of what has been described as the deadliest mass shooting on U.S. soil.
Smith & Wesson parent American Outdoor Brands Corp.’s stock AOBC, +3.67% jumped 3.8% in midday trade toward a three-week high, Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. shares RGR, +4.04% climbed 3.9% and Vista Outdoor Inc. shares VSTO, +2.62% ran up 3.0% toward a 6-week high.

Analysts say the regulatory environment is among the biggest drivers of demand for guns, as fears of tighter regulation have boosted gun sales and share prices in the past. Since President Trump was elected, however, fears of tighter regulations have faded and share prices have dropped.

Sturm, Ruger shares had shed 20% since the election, and had also hit a roughly 2 ½-year low in September. that is horrible. you can see bodies just on the ground. smh

So he's a former accountant/auditor and Vegas and California resident who dates asian girls. Sounds like a real loser.

Reckless speculation: Either a down on his luck gambler who hates Vegas (He sued a casino years ago) or an actual proponent of gun control targetting an NRA rich crowd.

Ok, this made me laugh. Well done.

Oh look,

Stephen Paddock, the man police say killed at least 58 people on the Las Vegas Strip, was a retired accountant who enjoyed playing $100-a-hand poker, his brother says.

Which begs the question, how does the "get the guns off the street" talk from police jive with the 2nd amendment?

Looks like the NRA wants to redistribute wealth in the form of guns. Use the cops to take them from low income people, buy them from the cops at a bulk rate, resell them at a profit, maybe to the same people they were taken away from.

Do any Dems support the NRA?

2016 over 3,000 firearms taken off the streets of NYC. O'Neill said it's the end of the pipeline. They are destroyed and some recycled metal used for other things. The NRA wants those guns to be sold for profit and notes the police departments could use the money to help with lack of funds.

That is disturbing. So NRA wants them back? Finds a dealer to purchase to get them back out there?

I'm not very well educated on the. rA and all of their lobbying power and tactics. I did NOT vote for the NRA.

i'll stick with my original comment: a vote for Republicans is a vote in support of the NRA

Well since I voted for bill and he liked interns on their knees under his desk, I figured trump wasn't so extreme.

Were you old enough to vote back then?
Interns vs a guy who has a history of racism, ripping people off, and multiple business failures. Not to mention the fact he's a pathological liar. Congrats on a job done.

Ha, got it: your vote is indefensible and you know it. And the best rhetorical strategy you can muster is to try to suggest that my question about your Trump vote doesn't matter because I am not at least 43 years old. Pure genius.

Admit it (again): you are complicit in the ongoing gun violence in this country because you care more about taking away rights from gay people or lowering tax rates on the wealthy and corporations. Or you really, really hate abortion. Which policy is more important to you than the innocent American lives taken by guns?

A friend of mine in Vegas says there is a 4 hour line there to donate blood. Hurricane relief drained the reserves. Just a way we can help.

And a vote for Democrats is a vote in support of killing 10x more babies than died in LV every single week.

See how stupid this argument is?

What your saying is if you vote for a republican you are voting for the NRA always,
and you are responsible for mass murders like this one?

Not responsible, but complicit. Yes, you are.

If the weapons that he had were truly fully automatic sub machine guns, then I don't think it is safe to assume that he had easy access to them. Which makes this all the more strange.

He had 8-10 of these weapons in his hotel room according to reports. I'd argue that is pretty easy access. Would you not?

I couldn't vote in 1996 but I could in 2000 and I would have voted for Clinton in 2000 if he was allowed to run. Stupid 22nd Amendment.

I would never in a million years vote for a vile piece of human garbage like Donald Trump, however. Comparing the two just doesn't pass the sniff test, I'm afraid. And you know this. Or at least, you should.

This x 100000

As a nation, we clearly cannot handle access to this weaponry. The experiment failed. Pull the fucking (assault and hand)guns now.

This is where I am and have been. If you live in the country, sure, you may need a rifle and shotgun - I'd certainly want each, especially if I had animals. The vast majority of gun deaths involve handguns. But in recent years, we've had a slew of attacks with semi-automatic assault rifles (not to be confused with semi-automatic protection rifles). Then let cities and municipalities further regulate rifles and shotguns if they so desire.

But we all know this can't happen in the US. Hell, 3 of these mass murders were at least in part terrorist events committed by Muslims - in Waco, Orlando and San Bernadino. And much, if not most, of the country effin' hates Muslims. But after those 3 Muslims committed those horrific acts, not even our hatred of Muslims was sufficiently strong enough to begin the "should we ban assault rifles?" conversation. If 3 Islamic terrorist events involving assault weapons wasn't enough to start that conversation, then some rich loner gambler losing his shite and shooting dozens of folks certainly is no beginner of that national conversation.

There's an American political party complicit in the murder of American men, women and children. This issue is nothing if not political. No more guns. We can't use them properly.

We outlaw or heavily regulate consumer goods of every kind when they kill people. Guns must be one of these. Amend the constitution now if need be.

Which one? Obama had the presidency and Congress, so where was our gun control? But we got Obamacare, so yippee.

Putting blame on one political party is stupid. Both are equally at fault for nothing being done. As DF07 (I think) said, this should not be a divisive issue for the majority. Somebody on either side needs to say fuck both parties, grow some balls, and do it.

I know you are trolling, but for those who aren't clever enough to figure it out:

Yes, a vote for a democrat is a vote for abortion. But most democrats don't believe that a fetus in utero has yet become a human life. Or they want to protect a woman's right to choose.
