The religious right's hypocrisy now on full display

It's amazing what a drug religion is -- can and is used to justify or absolve any behavior. Supposed to help people live morally and justly, and does the exact opposite for large swaths of 'Merican assholes.

Religious Right pastor Rick Wiles has warned that if Democrats remove Trump from office, there "will be violence in America." Appearing on the far-right "TruNews" program, Wiles said "I believe there are people in this country, veterans, there are cowboys, mountain men, I mean guys that know how to fight...and they're going to make a decision that people who did this to Donald Trump are not gonna get away with it...they're gonna hunt them down." He added that "It's going to happen and this country is going to be plunged into darkness and they brought it upon themselves because they [Democrats] won't back off."

Wiles and his "TruNews" program have a history of making anti-LGBT and anti-Semitic statements. Following Hurricane Harvey hitting Houston in 2017, Wiles blamed it on the city of Houston supporting the gay rights movement - "Here's a city that has boasted of its LGBT devotion, its affinity for the sexual perversion movement in America. They're under water." What a charming minister he must be.

So God is now protecting a virtual Anti-Christ (in that Trump represents a complete negation of Christ's teachings) from the Lion's Den of sinful LibDems? LOL. If Trump is impeached, will we get images of Trump replacing Jesus on the cross? That seems to be where the Religious Right is going right now. (If the Senate fails to convict and he remains in office, I'm assuming they will treat that as the Resurrection.)

This stuff is blatantly sacrilegious to the point it seems like a joke.

Y’all realize that there’s a ton of decent, relatively devout and intelligent religious folks that despise the president, right. Sometimes you paint in pretty broad smug strokes.

This thread isn't talking about them.

Sure but white evangelicals also voted 81% for Donald in 2016, were a major reason he won the presidency, and even as recently as two weeks ago support him at a 65% clip at a time where his approval rating has fallen below 40%.

No argument there. But that doesn’t mean every person with religious beliefs is a fucking moron, which seems to be a prevalent notion on these threads. And Milhouse, you should think about joining up. There are tons of churches in the South that would be cool with the way you like to throw faggot around as a pejorative. You’d fit right in, buddy.

if you choose to believe that your book of made up stories is somehow better than someone else’s book of made up stories then you are a fucking moron.
