First Charges Filed in Mueller Investigation

Looks like Barr delivered trump the bad news.

Totally didn’t see this blowing up in Trump/Republicans face.

You beat me to it.

Barr is shitting his pants. When he was nominated, I asked if would Barr be more like Eliot Richardson or Robert Bork. It looks like he's going to be beyond Bork.

Not surprising. I’m a little confused. Who are the “associates” they have complained to?

There was immediate displeasure from the team when they saw how the attorney general had characterized their work instead,” according one U.S. official briefed on the matter.

Summaries were prepared for different sections of the report, with a view that they could made public, the official said.

The report was prepared “so that the front matter from each section could have been released immediately — or very quickly,” the official said. “It was done in a way that minimum redactions, if any, would have been necessary, and the work would have spoken for itself.”

Mueller’s team assumed the information was going to be made available to the public, the official said, “and so they prepared their summaries to be shared in their own words — and not in the attorney general’s summary of their work, as turned out to be the case.”

Remember this passage every time some asshole like Lindsey Graham says the Mueller report cannot be released because of redactions

pretty funny all the people 100% buying the word of a man hired by a serial liar to cover-up and protect said serial liar

Brief history of the Mueller probe:

AG Jeff Sessions recused himself from overseeing the Russia investigation which left the duty to deputy AG Rod Rosentein.

Rod Rosentein helped Trump draft the letter firing FBI head James Comey.

Trump publicly tells people this should end the Russia investigation.

Rosenstein appoints Mueller to head the Russia investigation.

Trump continually complains that Sessions recused himself.

Bill Barr wrote a memo to Rod Rosenstein essentially saying Trump couldn't obstruct justice.

Trump accepted Sessions resignation the day after the 2018 election.

A month later, Trump announces he will nominate Bill Barr as AG.

Two months after that, Barr was confirmed and sworn in.

Within weeks, rumors fly that the Mueller investigation will be ending soon.

Five weeks after Barr was confirmed, it's announced the Mueller investigation is over

Soon after, Barr writes a letter in which the main finding is that he and Rosenstein don't think Trump obstructed justice

That's that happened. Trump fired Comey in efforts to squash the Russian investigation and the guy who helped him do it and the guy who don't think he can obstruct cleared him. And we are supposed to just accept that. If this happened over a few days instead of 2+ years, obstruction would be obvious.

More lying bullshank from NYT and Wapo.

Can’t stop fabricating stories and won’t stop. Too embarrassed to say they got it all wrong.

I like the new angle on unnamed sources though..seems they are onto unnamed associates of unnamed sources

rubes have always been too dim to understand how investigative journalism works, but this administration is really bringing it to the forefront

Somebody is teaching creative fiction.

As the hole gets deeper the crowd keeps shouting to “keep digging!”

Hahahaha :)

You couldn’t distinguish shit from applesauce..

“Investigative journalism”.. give it a rest. Maddow will be back to placate your fantasies soon enough.

Why didn't one of these people just make a copy and leak it. donks.

One way to look at these articles is that these people are threatening to do just that or better yet that they’re willing to testify to the house that Barr is blatantly covering for Trump.
