Brief history of the Mueller probe:
AG Jeff Sessions recused himself from overseeing the Russia investigation which left the duty to deputy AG Rod Rosentein.
Rod Rosentein helped Trump draft the letter firing FBI head James Comey.
Trump publicly tells people this should end the Russia investigation.
Rosenstein appoints Mueller to head the Russia investigation.
Trump continually complains that Sessions recused himself.
Bill Barr wrote a memo to Rod Rosenstein essentially saying Trump couldn't obstruct justice.
Trump accepted Sessions resignation the day after the 2018 election.
A month later, Trump announces he will nominate Bill Barr as AG.
Two months after that, Barr was confirmed and sworn in.
Within weeks, rumors fly that the Mueller investigation will be ending soon.
Five weeks after Barr was confirmed, it's announced the Mueller investigation is over
Soon after, Barr writes a letter in which the main finding is that he and Rosenstein don't think Trump obstructed justice
That's that happened. Trump fired Comey in efforts to squash the Russian investigation and the guy who helped him do it and the guy who don't think he can obstruct cleared him. And we are supposed to just accept that. If this happened over a few days instead of 2+ years, obstruction would be obvious.
