Found this Newsweek article from months ago. Mueller's not messing around. There's fire.

"The initial Russia offer by Papadopoulos apparently went nowhere, as other members of the foreign policy team rejected the suggestion, according to the Post. Papadopoulos persisted, emailing then-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski in April 2016, “Putin wants to host the Trump team when the time is right.” He also forwarded campaign members an email from Ivan Timofeev, a senior official in the government-funded Russian International Affairs Council, about coordinating a Trump visit to Moscow. Again, campaign members, including Paul Manafort, whose Virginia home the FBI raided in July, rejected the suggestion.

But months later, in June 2016, Manafort, Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer with ties to the Kremlin who had promised disparaging information about Trump's opponent, Hillary Clinton. Trump Jr. has said he did nothing wrong by attending the meeting. But William Browder, a financier and longtime critic of the Russian government, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee in July that the lawyer was probably trying to initiate an agreement on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin."

How do we use all of this to bring Trump down? Sounds a lot like the smoke around Nixon.

Overcome more Russian hacking and voter suppression efforts to flip the House in 2018. And even that might be enough. Trump was not being hyperbolic when he said he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose his base. He could fire Mueller and issue blanket pardons and face no immediate consequences.

And even if we do eventually vote him and Republicans out the cancer that led us to this moment isn't going away anytime soon. I hope I'm wrong but I think things will get a lot worse before they get better.

Here's the real thing coming out of this - almost all of these crimes involve deception and falsehood. That makes for a shitty informant at the trial of the upstream investigations. If Muller is going for bigger fish, he either (1) has other more reliable sources of information for presentation at the trial of the bigger fish, or (2) isn't going for bigger fish.

He isn’t going for bigger fish

Fox News and the WSJ editorial board spent the last week setting up the "firing Mueller is actually good" argument.

The papadoulous stuff is definitely campaign related. This is arguably more explosive than the Manafort/Gates stuff.

Former Trump Foreign Policy Adviser Secretly Pleaded Guilty in Mueller Probe

A former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign admitted he worked with representatives of the Russian government during the campaign as he pleaded guilty in Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s probe into interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

George Papadopoulos, who had suggested that Donald Trump meet with top Russian leaders during the campaign, pleaded guilty on Oct. 5 to making false statements during an interview with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Papadopoulos is cooperating with Mueller’s probe, and his indictment lists an unidentified campaign supervisor who also was aware of contacts with the Russians.

Shit is gettin' real...

Can Papadapolous stop talking if he's pardoned by Trump?

Kudos to this guy for not just tagging "gate" onto a word. TreasonWeasels isn't great, but it sure as hell beats "treason-gate" or "Trump-gate".

Mensch is an idiot.

Papadopoulos news is far worse for Donald as of right now. Provides potential collusion link and shows the campaign almost certainly aware of the hacked emails early on
