First Charges Filed in Mueller Investigation

The weirdest, saddest, and most unhelpful people, maybe in all the world, are: boomer liberals (like the leadership of the Democratic party, for example) who look upon Donald Trump’s lifelong track record of failing at petty crook shit—doing petty crook shit and not only getting away with it but in many cases declaring his failure a great success, and then being rewarded with greater fame and stature in turn—and insist they are seeing the work of a mastermind, rather than the tides of American life and culture carrying yet another born-rich shit-for-brains white asshole past and above any and all demands and consequences. The idea of Trump is the sucker-ass belief in meritocracy, in hoary old Great Man bullshit, twisted into its most horrible gargoyle incarnation. He’s rich and famous, he’s the president of the country, and therefore it just simply must be the case that he has earned this station for himself, one way or another, via some expression of traits that make him equal to it.

For years, most of us "boomer liberals" have been SCREAMING who Trump was, is and always will be. But the rednecks, silent millennials and scared white people wouldn't listen. We TRIED to be helpful, but you wouldn't listen nor would others in the midwest and south.

The premise of what you quoted "The weirdest, saddest, and most unhelpful people, maybe in all the world, are: boomer liberals (like the leadership of the Democratic party, for example) who look upon Donald Trump’s lifelong track record" was addressed by us and no one paid attention.

seems to me it's the younger people in office who are really calling Trump on his bullshit, like Pete, AOC, Tlaib, etc. Whereas Nancy and Steny and Chuck are just kinda like gee he's bad, but what can you do?

Because for their entire lives rich white dudes, and especially rich white dudes in power, have been largely untouchable.

For all we know, they very well may be be for the rest of Pete, AOC's, and Tliab's as well.

He has to be some kind of genius, even if it’s the evil kind. There is no way that a braying worthless dope, a man with no qualities of any kind to recommend him, could have ended up where Trump has ended up.”

I didn't read the article.

But maybe just reading ONLY the bolded parts above might help?

Wrangor... honest question. I believe you said you’d vote for Biden over Trump but that’s it regarding any Dem.

Why? I figured you’re a single issue voter. Why Biden over, say; Mayor Pete?

...and only if Biden didn’t offer up some sort of socialist universal health plan. All the other candidates are too dangerous.

Oh, and only maybe Biden.

If he doesn’t stray from solidly centrist campaigning.

Otherwise it’s vote for Trump!

Well there’s one big reason why so-called Christians wouldn’t go for Pete...

Barr could expose secrets, politicize intelligence with review of Russia probe, current and former officials fear

This is yet another destruction of norms that weakens our intelligence community,” said Morell, now the host of the Intelligence Matters podcast. “It is yet another step that will raise questions among our allies and partners about whether to share sensitive intelligence with us.”

Trump told reporters Friday that the Russia probe was “an attempted coup or an attempted takedown of the president of the United States.” He said he hoped Barr would investigate several foreign countries, including two of the United States’ closest allies.

“I hope he looks at the U.K. and I hope he looks at Australia and I hope he looks at Ukraine,” Trump said. “I hope he looks at everything, because there was a hoax that was perpetrated on our country.”

Trump doesn't care about the CIA, or protecting our intelligence assets, or national security. He's literally spent his whole life as a spoiled rich kid who was enabled and given things by his rich daddy - prep school education, Wharton admission, dodging the draft during Vietnam - and being given hundreds of millions when he started on his business "career." He's screwed that up multiple times, having declared bankruptcy numerous times, having been sued by contractors and clients and employees dozens of times for non-payment of services (among other things). Donald J. Trump is an ignorant and vulgar white-trash guy who was nonetheless lucky enough to be born to a filthy rich dad.

The notion that he's a great businessman or political strategist or tactician is a joke. He thinks on a day-to-day, sometimes hour-to-hour basis. He never has any plans, at least any that are organized and consistent. Everything is based on his whims and impulses of the moment, like a child. His adult life has been nothing but a constant search for more headlines and publicity, vindictive and petty feuds with anyone who gets in his way or criticizes him, mob boss mannerisms, business failures, and endless fraud. He has a long track record (at least since the 80s) of racism and misogyny and bigotry. He's basically a narcissistic, crass reality TV show star who has somehow made his way to the highest office in the land. That he got there was due to a miserable failure of Hillary Clinton and her campaign staff to connect to enough voters in the right states to win (and she still won the popular vote by nearly 3 million), yet another failure of the Electoral College to coincide with the popular vote winner (second time in five elections), and the resentment and fear of vast numbers of rural and suburban whites over the rapid demographic, cultural, and economic changes that have been happening since the 1990s.

To those who would say "if Trump is so bad, why did he win", my answer would be that the electorate doesn't always pick the best, or even most qualified, candidate. For proof, see Harding (a joke), Nixon (Humphrey), Carter (Ford), George W. Bush (lol), and an endless number of Senators, Governors, and Representatives. In 2016 just enough Americans in the right states preferred to elect a buffoonish clown they had seen acting tough on The Apprentice over a woman that they had been taught to despise by a quarter-century of right-wing propaganda. So, here we are - with a suck-up, hard-right AG who will do whatever Trump wants, who is willing to bend the law to engage in a vendetta against Trump's critics, and who may well wreck our national intelligence apparatus to go after Trump's perceived enemies, because he's in a snit. What a time to be alive.

All of this.

If someone was accused of murder and fired prosecutors overseeing the investigation because they convinced themselves the killing didn't even exist it wouldn't be an issue?

That's horseshit.
