In what is arguably the worst kept secret in NASCAR history, Richard Petty Motorsports is switching to Chevy and moving operations to Welcome to join up with Richard Childress Racing. RCR was not allowed input on the new Camaro, so there is rampant speculation that RCR/RPM are biding their time until the next new manufacturer enters the sport, possibly for the 2019 season.

Maybe this helps Petty hold on a couple more years, but otherwise I don't see how this will make much of a difference for either of them.

Tesla? :)

Tesla would be an interesting challenge for NASCAR. How would an electric car fit NASCAR specs?

Dont remember the exact figure but if you floored a tesla at daytona...youd have enough juice for around one lap. That would make for a long race.

You don't see this often, snow at Talladega.

Daytona Speedway hosts the "Turkey Rod," a giant car show, the weekend after Thanksgiving. My BIL has a car he shows, so I got to ride in it with him and on the Daytona Track - but not very fast.

Two major stories today:

Richard Childress shoots at intruders and Barry Dodson died.

Barry was from Rural Hall and will always be know for his contribution to Rusty's '89 championship. Raymond Beatle's Blue Max team was the Furniture Row of the 80s.

Chase became the first driver to test the new Camaro at Texas, and promptly became the first to wreck the new Camaro as well.

And check out the snow at New Hampshire.

That track in New Hampshire won't be drivable until like, June.

Chevy may start slow just like Toyota did last year but that new Camaro will end up being super fast.

Fords are in for a year of major hurt.

So Yahoo is permanently shelving fantasy NASCAR, so it looks like we'll have to find another home for this season. Any suggestions?
