Bullshit Fox News Says

When even the resident troll is rendered to a mere “lol” , you know it’s racist. And btw, Palma is still a pathetic little troll despite the lol comment. The mere fact that he trolls for fun makes him much more like bobknightrules swissmiss than he cares to admit.

Nice. They’re going to give a 28 year old Puerto Rican woman from the Bronx the Hillary and Pelosi treatment.

In most other democracies, most of those items (except for a few, like the jobs guarantee) are taken for granted. Here, they're presented by the GOP as radical, un-American, horrible stuff. I realize she's a socialist who's running as the Democratic candidate, but that platform is actually pretty mainstream in Europe, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, Japan, etc. Hell, Australia's universal healthcare system is called Medicare. Meanwhile, the GOP platform on most of these issues is straight out of the Gilded Age.

Most Fox News viewers saw that and were like “there’s a Q, I, A, and even more letters? Where are they using the bathroom?”

This gets to some of my broader points. I think progressives can make a good case that would bring in a big tent under this agenda. The Democrats just need better messengers who aren’t afraid of the message. Most Americans would rather hear from AOC than Hillary or Pelosi or Bernie.

She's very young to be a political candidate, and one of the brighter signs for Democrats this year has been the large number of younger and politically attractive candidates running. Some of them may not win, but they'll be back, and as the older (just old, really) generation dies off they're inevitably going to inherit the party. It's a good sign for the future of the party, no matter what happens this year. The Dems really do have some appealing, younger, and more dynamic and personable candidates running in a number of races around the country. They just need to stay active and focused, and eventually the party will be theirs.

That's a great platform for Democrats to run on this fall. I'd love to see all Democratic candidates put that list of goals on their websites.....especially Manchin, Heitkamp, Donnelly, McCaskill, Tester, Nelson & Brown.

bkf, there are two statements you stood by for a long time that were really beyond your abrupt change in policy preferences that I wonder if you've changed your tune on, i.e. they are more global thoughts on politics in general than true liberal/conservative beliefs. Paraphrasing here but:

1. Political discourse has shifted so far right that when moderates used to be at midfield they are now at the 30 yard line headed towards the conservatives' endzone. Basically that conservatives have gradually moved the entire discussion right over the last 40 years (I believe you used to cite Reagan and rise of wall street LBOs etc.)
2. Gerrymandering was a huge problem as the democratic candidate was collectively getting maybe 55% of the votes but would end up with say 40-45% of the congressional seats for a certain state.

My guess is that you used to be vehemently opposed to the electoral college and now at least standby it because it's in the constitution but I'll let you confirm that suspicion.

Bkf, followup question based on your former beliefs: where do you stand nowadays on CEO compensation?

You can’t prove he ever posted that no one deserves to make more than $1 million. Just like you can’t prove he’s not a murderer.

doesn't matter Keith. Trump Legion already have their facts for the day. You're losing the war.
